The Sr. Specialist - Innovation Officer is part of the recently-created dynamic Value centered Design & Modeling (VcDM) group of Technical R&D (TRD) division of GSK Vaccines.
The position is based in Rixensart, Belgium.
The Sr. Specialist - Innovation Officer is primarily responsible for supporting TRD scientists in developing novel vaccine production processes by facilitating the adoption of innovative applications, methods, approaches, ways of work (WoW's), and related technologies.
Background and Significance :
Scientists employed within TRD are entrusted with the function of developing new vaccines and are frequently confronted with the tasks of evaluating, screening, validating, and adopting alternative production methods, approaches, and technologies.
The Sr. Specialist - Innovation Officer facilitates and drives the adoption and implementation of innovations in TRD. The Sr.
Specialist - Innovation Officer acts as liaison between the Scientists and GSK's Innovation Ecosystem, GSK’s External R&D division, as well as third-
party (external to GSK) innovative technology and service providers. The ultimate objectives are to reduce significantly application development times and vaccines production costs.
In doing so, the Innovation Officer collaborates closely with various TRD functional departments and TRD Technical Development Leaders (TDL's).
The Sr. Specialist - Innovation Officer is fully supported by the bioprocess modeling, analysis, simulation, and economic evaluation tools available to or developed by VcDM, and also by the general business decision science capabilities of the Statistical Sciences unit of TRD.
The Sr. Specialist - Innovation Officer reports to the Senior Process Design Manager of VcDM.
