The production manager is leading, organizing and developing the production department of approx. 40 employees. He / she is member of the management team that is responsible for the daily management of the plant, develop plant strategies and the master plan to achieve a long term outstanding performance.
He / she leads in safety performance, is responsible for negotiating and meeting the production plan with and delivered by the planning organization.
The intermediates and products are produced according to operational procedures and meet the budgeted costs and the required quality and food safety standards.
The operations team (Technical coordinator, training & development coordinator, PSM operator and shift supervisors) reports to the operations manager.
The production manager reports to the plant manager. Profile :
Ensure the plant produces 24 / 7 safely, per plan and within budget and specifications.
Participate in the management team : decision making based on tactical and strategic discussions. Communication and implementation of what has been agreed in the department and organization.
Participation in the works council and the safety committee.
Cascading the Business Goals and plant goals into department goals and individual goals for the operations team.
Giving strong guidance and set clear expectations towards safe work practices, food safety and correct usage of standard operating procedures.
Leading incident investigations and defining root cause(s).
Setting the right priorities with the team and other departments, such as maintenance and engineering, to meet the production planning.
Follow up and communication of the results via the weekly & monthly KPI’s built for the department and the plant.
Develop a long-term staffing plan and recruit accordingly. Defining the training & development plan for the employees in the department to maximize the flexibility, balance knowledge and experience.
Roll out organizational changes to improve the performance of the team.
Participate the budgeting process and preparation of the fixed cost budget and utilization level for the plant. Monitoring and preparing cost reductions through the year.
Leading the Corrective Actions team, improving the safety work attitude and the robustness of the plant equipment and processes.
Organizing and preparing work meetings with the different teams in the department.
Collaboration with the counterparts in other sites, global meetings and phone conferences.
