Job Description

  • Provide support to operations to maintain safe, reliable and compliant operations for multiple catalyst manufacturing lines.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on plant operations relative to technical availability and percent capacity targets.
  • Improve production quality, costs and production rates by establishing quality systems that includes the development of operational training, process documents, quality control tools and QA sampling protocol.
  • Lead / Coordinate PHA's, HAZOP's and HEMP evaluations on processes.
  • Provide mentoring to other members of the Technical team.
  • Lead process engineering design projects for on-going and future site capability and growth projects.
  • Closely collaborate with projects and engineering teams as well as plant operations nd other local and global stakeholders to achieve project goals on schedule, time and budget.
  • Optimizes processes and / or products to support business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement minset to strive for year-to-year capacity improvements, optimize asset utilization and energy / utility reductions.
  • Lead select major capital projects during Identify-Assess-Select phase (basic engineering).
  • Supports Project Engineer / Manager during the definition and execution phase as the appointed process engineer for selected projects.
  • Leads commissioning activities for selected projects.
  • Member of company Process Engineering network.
  • Supports company organization in selection and standardization if possible of select unit operations.

  • Contribute to building a high performance team to jointly deliver the site targets and projects.
  • The Successful Applicant

  • Master of Science Degree in (Chemical) Engineering. Other degrees considered with relevant manufacturing experience.
  • 10+ years experience in Chemical / Industrial / catalyst manufacturing environment supporting manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems and PLC controls desirable. SAP, Aspen Tech and Siemens PCS a plus.
  • Previous knowledge of catalyst manufacturing / solids handling and analytical methods is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Engineer or as a supervisor or team lead is desirable.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Project, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent Communications and Organization Skills.
  • English and Dutch Proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Belgian / Flemish / Local environmental regulations is desirable.
