The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director Belgium, the is responsible for defining the sales strategy, leading and shaping the sales organisation and building a strong collaborative relationship with customers.

S / he provides direction to the sales team of 30 people though Belgium.

Other responsibilities / duties include :

  • Sets a strategic local sales plan aligned with global strategy and leads the execution of it.
  • Monitors and drives annual sales targets to ensure that the sales department is achieving these set objectives.
  • Constantly analyzing the changing demands of clients, S / he ensures that the visibility of Roche products is maintained with customers through ongoing contact.
  • Benchmarks services against competitors and monitors market trends to further grow market intelligence and be proactive in service delivery.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proven Sales leader with a track record of driving change and delivering growth for medical device or diagnostics companies in Belgium.

    S / he will combine strong strategic thinking with excellent operational skills to ensure stretch targets are met.

    With outstanding leadership skills, the ideal candidate should have experience hiring, retaining and developing high performing sales teams.

    S / he will have a high level of customer focus combined with a strong drive for results.

    Other required experience / skills include :

  • Track record of success and upward progression in sales positions in large multi-national medtech / diagnostics companies in the Belgian market.
  • Experience in leading and developing a sales organization.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic selling skills and advanced customer relationship management skills.
  • Positive mental "doer" attitude with a hands-on promptness in decision making.
  • Customer communication skills : capability to listen to and understand the customer, to create enthusiasm, to create needs and to respond adequately to needs of customers
  • A dynamic, high energy and self-starting individual who inspires teams through natural leadership and passion, energizing those around him / her.
  • University degree in a scientific or business field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Fluency in French, Dutch and English is preferred, both verbal and written.
