We are looking for a Quality / Safety / Environment Management Engineer.
You will initiate and fine-tune the operation of quality, safety, environment system on the Nexans Benelux Buizingen Plant.
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
Ensure compliance and execution of policies and objectives.
Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Involved in several quality improvement projects within the Nexans organization
Conducts internal quality audits and external certification audits
Represents the quality department through frequent communication, training and presentations within the entire organization
Drives quality in the organization through preventive actions
Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
Lead in-house training with managers and employees about safety issues and risks
Record incidents, does accidents enquiries and produce statistics for the Group.
Participates in the development and implementation of Long Range Plans, Continuous Improvement Plans, global standards, budget and other corporate efforts.
Establishes site safety and health goals and objectives consistent with global and regional goals.
Manages system for identifying, investigating, recording, and reporting undesired safety and environmental events. Ensures corrective actions are taken.
Provides regular communication and reporting to all levels regarding safety, environment and quality issues to ensure that relevant issues are quickly and appropriately addressed.
Participates to the monthly Safety Committee of the Company as Safety Advisor.
Manages a team of 3 Quality workers
Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry with good knowledge in polymers and additional safety related field
Professional certification in Prevention level 2
You have an excellent level of Dutch and a good working knowledge of English & French
You dispose of excellent communication skills and diplomacy to establish a constructive dialogue.
You like to work in team and are also able to work autonomously.
You can anticipate situations and adapt to the realities in the field.
