IT Lead Developer, IT Digital Solution Platforms

Within the global UCB IT organization, IT Digital Solution Platforms team is playing a crucial role in Bringing the Trial to the Patient , by implementing digital solutions that engage patients as they go about their lives outside of the visits with their physician.

This is a real, progressive paradigm shift in the industry where we are driving disruptive transformation of how clinical trials are conducted.

We are looking for an amazing IT Lead Developer to join us in this unique transformational journey. (Based in our Anderlecht or Braine L’Alleud office in Belgium)

The IT Lead Developer will play a leading role in the Development of the Digital Solution Platforms Products, with a focus on clinical studies.

She / he will be part of a growing and dynamic team that offers services from strategy to development, implementation and operations, enabling UCB to deliver innovative digital solutions.

  • Collaborating with cloud, solution and security architects to design programs and products end-to-end
  • Developing web and mobile applications backed by RESTful API’s for internal UCB users, patients and healthcare professionals
  • Delivering innovative digital solutions in various programming languages
  • Own your code and its quality, making sure the necessary gates are respected and followed through
  • I nterested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills :

  • Solid .NET Developer experience, of which 3+ years in an environment with complex business logic and cloud (native) architectures
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills resulting in high quality code
  • Proven ability to work in teams with excellent organizational, time and task management skills
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills across teams
  • Your Experience :

  • Expert in .NET 4.8 / .NET 5 with experience in .NET Core 2.1+ (C#, Web API, LINQ, async / await, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud native architectures, RESTful API, and Microsoft Azure technologies, patterns and best practices (Azure App Services, Azure AD B2C, API management, etc.)
  • Experience with SCRUM methodology; VSTS / Azure DevOps and Git;
  • Experience in writing unit tests
  • Experience remediating findings from security tests (e.g. penetration tests, vulnerability scans, static code analysis, bug bounty,.. )
  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and how to protect against them.
  • Knowledge of web development (HTML, JavaScript / TypeScript, CSS, XML, JSON)
  • Knowledge of AngularJS and Angular 2+ with deep understanding of observables
  • A plus if you have :

  • Experience in Xamarin
  • Experience in writing unit / integration / e2e tests for frontend applications
  • Knowledge of Vue, React and Redux
  • Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Azure AD B2C
  • Experience with application security (e.g. triaging security findings, defining security requirements,.. )
