At least 65% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in preparation of a doctoral dissertation about pharmacoepidemiology and precision medicine / pharmaceutical care for patients with chronic complex diseases, including frailty.
You will assist in the teaching activities at the department, specifically the following Dutch courses : Pathophysiology I-IV.
You will assist in the internal and external services of the department.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You hold a degree of Master in Pharmaceutical Care, or Master in Drug Development or Master in Medicine. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted.
The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
You are interested in clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy and pharmacoepidemiology. Publications or a master's thesis on precision medicine, pharmaceutical care, clinical pharmacy or rational use of medicines in patients with chronic complex diseases or frailty are recommended.
You are interested and / or experienced in statistical data processing and have a thorough knowledge of SPSS and / or R.
You demonstrate great clinical and analytical ability to translate clinical problems into statistical syntax. Knowledge of, and affinity with, current developments in health care (both in the Belgian context and internationally) is crucial.
You are able to translate scientific research into the professional practice of pharmacists (both locally and internationally) and into the training of future pharmacists;
You have an independent, problem-solving, organized and result-oriented attitude;
You have the required social skills, flexibility and critical mind to function in a multidisciplinary and international academic environment.
You have excellent teaching and communication skills. Any teaching experience and participation in further training, conferences, etc. is recommended.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation.
Attention : If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education.
Your appointment will start on 1 June 2021 at the earliest and at the latest October 1, 2021.
Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3.
