Airtec is a division within Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. The headquarter is located in Wilrijk (Belgium) and has production units in China and India.
The divisional activities, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance and human resources are also located in Belgium.
The Airtec division is responsible, as keeper of the core know how at the field of aircompression, for the development and manufacturing of all compressor elements and the delivery to the product divisions.
Worldwide, 1000 employees contribute to the success of this division.
The Smart Factory team is part of the process engineering department. The team investigates all of the buzzwords surrounding Industry 4.
0 and applies these technologies to our manufacturing processes. The Goal is to identify those technologies and applications that really create an added value for Airtec or the Atlas Copco group, and then roll out these technologies in multiple other areas.
In our team you will have the opportunity to work really close to production and see the results of you work being used on a daily basis.
At the same time, you will to work on challenging and innovative projects to explore the potential of new technologies. These projects are in different domains such as machine connectivity, traceability, localization, building dashboards and operator interfaces and wireless technologies including 5G.
With the increasing demand for more variability, shorter time to market and increasing complexity of our product portfolio, the next generation data platform will be a key enabler.
For this we are looking for motivated colleagues to help shape the data platform for the Airtec division, and really do hands on contributions to this platform.

Educational requirements
The ideal candidate is a software engineer / developer with affection for production techniques or has experience in either engineering, automation, scada, field service or PLC programming and a strong interest to grow IT competences.
The candidate is interested in manufacturing technologies and has a mindset to put his / her knowledge into practice and to apply his / her experience in a real industrial and business environment.
