Who You'll Work With
You will work in either Düsseldorf or Louvain-la-Neuve and will be part of McKinsey’s Basic Materials Institute, helping develop the Metals Service Line.
Our global Basic Materials Institute (BMI) consists of 50 leading professionals with deep expertise in metals, mining and forest product industries.
Almost half of these professionals belong to the Metals Service Line, with a focus on metal markets and manufacturing. We offer our clients unique insights on supply, demand, trade flows, and competitive dynamics for steel, aluminum, copper, and other base metals.
We publish extensively on these topics, and we are core participants in the world’s major metals conferences. We also collaborate with global institutions, metals associations, and policymakers to help shape the industry’s future.
What You'll Do
You will focus much of your attention on people and unit leadership, on client service team support, and on knowledge development efforts.
Specifically, you will work closely with the Basic Materials Institute research manager and Metals Service Line research colleagues in Europe, the Americas and Asia on providing a seamless operation of our global team of knowledge professionals.
You will assume responsibility of the daily functioning of the Metals team of about 15 knowledge professionals (workflow management, quality control of their deliverables, coaching and professional development).
You will also be working with client service teams directly, engage in knowledge development, and act as a thought partner in team discussions
