General objective of the function

The role comprises of two main result areas :

  • Translate the Category Development Plans into customer specific plans for the Artisanal Bakery Channel.
  • Coordinate International aspects of Local Marketing and Category Management activities : e.g. international product (re-
  • launches, coordinate portfolio and active SKU management in line with Category Development Strategies.

    Your role & responsibilities :

  • Market and product knowledge Gather and retain market knowledge on our categories and channel. Monitor trends. Bring together the market data (product, pricing, competitors, etc.
  • gathered by sales staff, offsite offices, etc. and propose initiatives in tune with the market. Build and retain knowledge on our products and applications in close cooperation with R&D.

    Generate new ideas for Innovation and New Product Development.

  • Portfolio / range of products Manage the current product range : perform an ongoing SWOT analysis of the current range (profitability) and analyse new product opportunities.
  • Delisting of non-performing products. Follow-up of sales of new introductions in the Vandemoortele assortment. Follow-up of the number of SKU’s in the total assortment (Vandemoortele & PL).

    Spotting gaps in the Vandemoortele assortment in close cooperation with the local marketing managers.

  • Liaison HQ / Local Commercial teams Ensure the category management policies (product range, pricing, brands and marketing) are reflected in action plans to be implemented by the all countries.
  • Be the link between Sales & Marketing, R&D, Operations, etc. Support the local teams in the implementation of strategic projects.

    Install international synergies (on product- as well as on customer level).

  • Internal communication Organise internal PR of our Vandemoortele assortment. Internal communication of our key customers and key products.
  • Be the driver of passion for our products : make promotion for our products in the company via tasting product promotion, etc.

    Organise internal training and review meetings.

  • External communication Determine and support the strategy for the international fairs. Development of promotional material, brochures, pictures and packaging of the Vandemoortele assortment.
  • Project Management Initiating and managing (international) projects. You are the key figure between the various departments for the most important projects.
  • About you

  • You hold a Master or Bachelor degree and have at least 5 years of experience 5 years of experience in B2B Product Management (marketing) and / or New Product Development Knowledge / technical background of nutrition and food trends.
  • You have a conceptual, pragmatic and creative personality.
  • You are dynamic and result oriented.
  • You are passionate by food and you have a high affinity with bakery (products). That passion will motivate you to go the extra mile in engaging others.
  • You are eager to learn and to further grow within the organization.
  • You are able to work and lead projects in an autonomous way.
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking and project management capabilities characterizes you.
  • Enthusiasm and drive characterize you.
  • You have excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and Dutch and good command of French.
  • You have excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • You are willing to travel within Europe (short trips).
