Microsoft’s Safety, Compliance and Sustainability Team has an immediate opening for a Copyright Levy Fee Program Manager who will be responsible for management of global Copyright Levies and their application related to hardware across commercial, retail and online sales channels.
In this role, the Copyright Levy Fee Program Manager will work with internal business groups, Microsoft’s partners, industry specialists, and external bodies, to lead Microsoft’s global Copyright Levy compliance.
This position is based in Brussels, Belgium.

Program Manager Engineering
Monitor worldwide Copyright Levy fees legislation, to keep Microsoft policy current in supporting Copyright Levy requirements related to hardware across commercial, retail and online sales channels;
Communicate and document the impact of Copyright Levy fee requirements to internal business units, including procedures for assessment and payments;
Solid understanding of national and international Copyright Levy systems, including scope of products, levy calculation methodology, payment responsibility and procedures for levy collection, payment, and reporting;
Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to support Microsoft’s Copyright Levy strategy;
Work with our customers to ensure compliance and facilitate payment of Copyright Levies, issuing PO’s;
Complete required country / state / province notifications, declarations and reports, as applicable;
Ensure Copyright Levy IT systems are implemented;
Develop and maintain business processes and specifications;
Single point of contact for various Copyright Levy societies, including initiating contract negotiations;
Develop, update and maintain pricing conditions table;
Maintain budget and actuals;
Respond to internal and external questions concerning Copyright Levy fees;
Attend industry meetings, as applicable;
Actively seek and create opportunities for synergies across stakeholder groups to drive solutions;
Candidates that possess :
at least 8 years of hands-on experience managing consumer electronics Copyright Levy fees in the European countries;
OR / AND
at least 8 years of hands-on experience managing WEEE, Battery and Packaging reporting and payments in the European countries will be considered for this position.
Other requirements :
A Bachelor’s degree in business, economy, accounting or other related discipline; Master’s degree is preferred;
Excellent project management skills, including PM certification;
Track record of being an effective team player with experience of leading and influencing internal and external resources to ensure successful outcomes;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Additional languages are a plus;
Ability to drive tasks to completion;
Self-motivated and ability to work under minimum supervision, while delivering outstanding results;
