As a Structural Engineer you'll be making structural calculations of steel constructions and connections, verifying and approving construction drawings and giving technical advice to demonstrate the technical feasibility to support the design of equipment.

Due to growth and an internal shift we're searching for a Structural Engineer to join the RDTS (Research-Development-Training-Standardization) team of Sarens NV.

Your job as a Structural Engineer in a nutshell :

  • Studying and analyzing all technical documentation provided by internal / external stakeholders.
  • Looking for missing information, reporting issues to stakeholders and making appropriate assumptions, in order to find the best possible technical solution.
  • Consulting equipment documentation (after official approval received on the proposed solution from the functional manager), this in order to determine the design requirements.
  • Producing all required technical documentation and calculations to illustrate and justify the technical solution to stakeholders and defining the required engineering resources to do so.
  • Calculating and determining the details of the equipment based on the design requirements, the safety rules, the technical possibilities or restrictions of the equipment, time and cost.
  • Performing calculations independently - more specific : stability and structural calculations.
  • Instructing and following-up the engineering team members appointed to his / her project to produce the technical documents (e.
  • g. steering CAD Designers).

  • Liasing with other engineering team members in order to improve the quality, efficiency and correctness of the technical documents.
  • In this function you'll report to the RDTS Manager.

    You are a mathematical wonder who likes to do calculations . When actions are required, you quickly switch with a solution-oriented attitude and you communicate clearly to your colleagues.

    You've a strong analytical reasoning ability . You work accurately and double-check all your results!

    The profile requirements :

  • Master in Engineering (Civil Engineering / Construction)
  • Experience in structural calculation, familiar with Eurocode standards and design rules for steel structures
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (oral and written)
  • Good operational knowledge of MS Office , AutoCAD and / or Inventor , advanced engineering software (e.g. SCIA Engineer, MathCAD, StaadPro)
