Volvo Group Operations Graduate

If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization.

You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities worldwide.

You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.

In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you.

You will experience several on-the-job rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization :

Service Market Logistics(SML) Central Distribution Centre Ghent is responsible for spare parts supplies to the Volvo Group s customers.

The goal of designing, operating and optimizing logistics and supply chain is to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality for all brands and distribution centers where the Volvo Group operates.

Service Market Logistics is part of Volvo Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 3,700 employees globally in more than 40 locations.

This is us, your new team :

We are a highly engaged quality team that work cross-functionally in different exciting projects supporting the Gent & EU region.

Our quality team consists of 3 Quality Assurance Coordinators and 3 Process Quality Engineers who handle all non-conformities and analyses them so they can implement process optimizations together with operations.

Next to this we also have 5 Material Quality Handlers and 1 Supplier Quality Engineer, they tackle all discrepancies in stock and with suppliers in order to adjust these.

We have 1 Environment and Dangerous Goods Coordinator and 1 Group leader Business management Systems for control plan and stocktaking.

In this team you will have a great opportunity to get familiar with Group Trucks Operations and it s different departments.

Main activities and responsibilities :

You will be able to work with interesting data analysis and reporting within the Gent and EU scope, were the understanding behind the figures is the most important.

Furthermore you will be responsible for setting up a risk analysis structure and secure the roll out of this set of quality tools throughout the organisation.

You will have the opportunity to work with great people and motivate them to participate in our quality journey. As a part of our Quality team you will work together with your peers towards a better future.

Who are you?

You have flexibility and ability to work proactively and independently. You have great communications skills and the ability to get a holistic view.

You also demonstrate perseverance, energy and a drive to improve. Likewise you show project management skills and have an attitude for self-

development. Knowledge from lean management is an advantage and international experience is meriting.

To be successful in this role you also possess the following qualifications :

  • Master of Science Business Engineering or Master in Industrial Engineering
  • Maximum of two years previous work-experience prior to or after graduation
  • Experience in Logistics and knowledge of Data Analysis
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Excellent spoken and written Dutch or willing to learn is a short term
  • Valid work-permit for Belgium, if not citizen
  • You will work in a global environment that provides you with development opportunities, both professionally and personally.
