About Fixed Networks Our Fixed Networks (FN) business group provides an array of gigabit to the home solutions to deliver data access to our communication service provider (CSP) customers.

This includes Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) as well as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA), xDSL and cable upgrades. We build solutions that don’t stop at the home but also bring that gigabit experience into the home using our meshed Wi-Fi solution.

General Purpose :

  • To contribute to the development of real time embedded software for our existing and new to be developed hardware platforms and more in particular the forwarding layer
  • To contribute to the development of cloud based applications
  • To bring our product innovations and evolutions to the market faster and at higher quality than the competition as part of a multi-disciplinary agile team of senior experts and supported by state-of-the-art development and test technologies, tools and processes
  • Job Responsibilities & Competencies

    Main Responsibility Area :

  • Clarifies customer requirements
  • Contributes to feature estimation and planning
  • Designs SW architecture (i.e. definition of modules, classes, interfaces, task priorities, concurrent access, )
  • Designs generic SW running on different processor architectures : single / multiple core, Arm, MIPS, PPC,
  • Is accountable for the long-term quality of the software delivered
  • Helps others in meeting the team objectives
  • Interacts with project managers to give regular updates of identified issues
  • Position Description :

  • Writes C / C++ code, makes files, scripts,
  • Removes memory leaks by using commercial tools
  • Writes test cases that validate their written code, and automate them
  • Estimates and measures the consumed CPU cycles and on-board memory
  • Troubleshoots software on target hardware and in a simulation environment
  • Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or a degree in Computer Science / Telecommunications / Electronic (or 5 years of experience)
  • Broad interest in the Telecom sector
  • Knowledge of real-time operating system concepts (interrupts, tasks, concurrency, )
  • Knowledge of written C or C++ programs
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts
  • Genuine interest in new technologies and read / implement internet RFC’s
  • Ability to work fluently with Unix / Linux (as operating system)
  • Basic knowledge of IP, and / or GPON / U-NGPON technologies
  • While growing in the role, get an in-depth understanding of new telecommunications protocols and / or Nokia’s hardware platforms, and the way customers are deploying them
  • Ability to draw and explain / document your design in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Belief in KISS principle
  • Eagerness and agility to learn fast and be challenged on a daily basis
  • Passion in handling complex systems and projects
  • Keen on working in a multicultural environment
