The Process SafetyEngineer will provide Process Safety services for the variousEastman locations in Europe. He or she will be the main ProcessSafety resource for these locations and will represent the regionon various corporate Process Safety networks andinitiatives.
Supportthe development and maintenance of site level Process SafetyManagement (PSM) Systems
Support thedevelopment and implementation of corporate Process Safety Policiesand Procedures at the sites.
Serve as theProcess Safety resource or consultant for site Process SafetyLeadership team(s).
Develop and maintain theregion's Process Safety Audit program, and evaluate / advise on anythird-party audit issues related to ProcessSafety.
Develop and maintain Process SafetyKnowledge Management systems, including training and revalidationprograms.
Provide Process Safety input toenhance the quality of the site's operating procedures (WorkInstructions).
Provide Process Safety input toMaintenance and Engineering department to enhance ContractorManagement.
Conduct and support Process HazardsAnalysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and be atrainer for PHA and LOPA.
Support other risk assessments, includingfacility siting studies.
Be an expert foradvanced process safety hazard analysis, e.g. Quantitative RisksAssessment (QRA), Control of Industrial Accident Hazards (CIMAH),Facility Siting Analysis, Pre-
Start-up Safety Review (PSSR)etc.
Provide independent advice to SiteManagement on all process safety related regulatory requirements toensure compliance.
Lead and support processsafety incidents investigations and process safety near missinvestigations by using Root Cause Analysis(RCA).
Support the sites in implementingManagement of Change (MOC) processes and actualchanges.
Support the sites in managing ProcessSafety documentation (Relief system, Interlock documentationetc.).
Advise site Engineering, Maintenance andOperations departments on e.g. Safety Instrumentation Systems (SIS)following relevant standards.
Represent theregion on corporate Process Safety networks and teams, andfacilitate regional Process Safety Networks. Share learning fromincidents and near misses, and, share Process Safety related bestpractices via these networks.
Participate inindustry groups such as the European Process Safety Centre andshare relevant knowledge gained with regional and global networksand teams.
Develop and conduct PSM relatedtrainings.
Support the site's EmergencyResponse Planning (ERP) programs.
Adviseengineering departments on developing of Engineering Standards anddesigns.
Serve as liaison between sites and theGlobal Process Safety Management group for more advance ProcessSafetyservices.
Degreein Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Requiredlanguage(s) : fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch and / or German isan advantage.
At least 5 year(s) of workingexperience in Chemical, Petrochemical or Refining industry,including a role in or close tooperations.
Preferably at least 2 years ofexperience in a Process Safety role.
Enhancedprocess safety training or knowledge will be an advantage (SISInfrastructure, leading PHA’s, conducting LOPA’s, consequencemodeling, facility siting, leading RCA’s,etc.)
Applicants must be willing to work at oneof Eastman's sites in Europe.
Available for afull-time position.
Expected to travel on aregular basis, of the order of 25 % of the time, depending on theneeds.
