As a Head of Continuous Improvement, you will lead the strategy deployment process across the MPU / SPU following the best know method and ensuring engagement and alignment on all levels.

You support the business strategy and MPU / SPU objectives by improving process efficiency within the MPU / SPU by embedding the GlaxoSmithKline Production System (GPS).

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following :

  • Coach the MPU / SPU LT to ensure effective strategy deployment and MPU / SPU wide engagement.
  • Lead the MPU / SPU in its pursuit towards Operation Excellence, and support the MPU / SPU Leadership Team with the identification and realization of improvement initiatives, both with financial and non-financial targets.
  • Lead the GPS transformation and acceleration across departments, teams and production areas, implementing new best-known methods for GPS and coaching MPU / SPU LT and all direct reports to realise the cultural change through GPS.
  • Define, build and maintain the required Lean and Six Sigma Capabilities in the MPU / SPU, and ensure appropriate means for coaching and mentoring of line managers and trained experts during the execution of their projects.
  • Advocate and demonstrate GPS skills, mindset and behaviours during daily contacts with the MPU / SPU Leadership Team, the Line Management and the teams on the floor’ through coaching and mentoring, and by leading and facilitating Kaizen Events and Problem Solving Sessions.
  • Lead and coordinate strategic performance management (Business Performance Review, Management of Simplification and ValueAdded Improvement Projects and MPU / SPU performance indicators) to monitor the delivery of transversal / local plans and the corresponding Return On Investment’ (ROI).
  • Support the MPU / SPU Leadership Team and Line Managers with the definition (e.g. business case, scope, phasing, approach, etc) and prioritisation of programs and projects in line with the strategy and deployed goals and objectives.
  • Ensure efficient and effective governance, monitoring and reporting of the Master Plan and the Program & Project Portfolio by (i) implementing a supporting data collection’ process that ensures correct, complete and up-to-date information, (ii) building and maintaining a MPU / SPU Control Room and (iii) preparing and facilitating the monthly Performance Review Meeting and Project Review Board.
  • Use digital levers to generate practical, creative and sustainable alternatives to support process simplification, value creation and continuous improvement

    Basic Qualifications :

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals :

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years of working experience including minimum 5 years’ experience in a Lean / 6 Sigma similar role or in a Manufacturing / Technical management role.
  • Held a number of leadership positions in a manufacturing environment covering a broad range of activities and operations (e.
  • g. Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Safety).

  • Demonstrated significant leadership of improvement initiatives and / or cultural change year on year resulting in both financial and non-financial benefit and behavioural change.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus :

  • Excellent Lean SixSigma skills demonstrated in previous projects
  • Green Belt Certification is a must-have’ and Black Belt certification must be acquired within 12 months if not already certified at the time of hiring
  • Developing and managing teams and driving results
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes and interfaces in a bio-pharma environment
  • Proven experience in managing projects
  • Excellent analytical skills and learning agility
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Ability to simplify complex processes, applying innovative thinking
  • Leadership and ability to lead and drive change, matrix leadership
