Our client is an applied research center providing high fidelity numerical simulation methods and tools to companies who are involved in a technology innovation process in order to invent and design more competitive products.

Their ambition is to be internationally recognised as a technological leader in modelling and numerical simulation in which they focus on the modelling of manufacturing processes, the design and analysis of high-

tech structures and materials, computational fluid dynamics and multi-disciplinary optimisation. The company operates a Tier-

1 supercomputing infrastructure and has experimental facilities in composite manufacturing and prototyping. Their headquarters are located in Belgium with a subsidiary office in Paris.

Having a solid and recognized experience in numerical simulations and the development of methodologies and tools for turbomachinery applications, our client is official R&D partner of the Safran Group since 2007.

In order to support their expanding research activities focussing on turbomachinery aerodynamics and design optimization, we are looking for Research Engineers for their location in Charleroi as well as in Paris.

As Senior Research Engineer in Turbomachinery Aerodynamics and Optimization, you :

  • work on challenging projects with clients and research partners within a multi / pluridisciplinary optimization context that relies on a strong CFD-
  • centric expertise, involving aerodynamic, aeroacoustic, aeroelastic, aeromechanical and aerothermal analyses

  • contribute to turbomachinery optimization projects and further develop the design methodologies
  • are responsible for the technical progress as well as project management in line with the Quality Management System to meet the clients' expectations
  • The ideal candidate :

  • possesses at least an engineering master degree in aerodynamics or fluid mechanics; a PhD degree can be considered a valuable asset
  • can count on a working experience of at least 3 years in the turbomachinery community
  • has a solid background in applied mathematics and numerical methods for CFD
  • has a strong affinity with turbomachinery design and an interest in optimization and data mining techniques
  • has preferably some experience in acoustics
  • is proficient in object-oriented programming and shell scripting (Python, C )
  • has excellent analytical skills and solution-oriented thinking capabilities
  • is fluent in English and French
