You will be working as a Product Qualification Engineer within Nokia’s Fixed Networks Broadband Networks (FN BBN) Hardware R&D department located in Antwerp, Belgium.
As a member of the R&D department that is responsible for the HW design, project management, testing, verification, product qualification, certification and industrialization, you will fulfill an expert consulting role towards the various HW Design Teams working on a broad range of hardware platforms within the FN BBN portfolio.
This portfolio spans a vast range of copper-based (VDSL2, G.Fast, ) and fiber-based (PON, GPON, ) fixed network access products for various indoor and outdoor deployment scenario’s in a world-wide market (EMEA, APAC, NAR, ).
Communication towards and alignment and close cooperation with HW Design Teams is a key responsibility.
All NOKIA products developed within the FN BBN business unit need to comply with numerous standardized requirements either being regulatory (e.
g. CE marking, FCC compliancy, VCCI compliancy), specific towards the telecommunications industry (e.g. ITU-T K series) or on customer specific demand (e.
g. Environmental Engineering requirements, Telcordia NEBS, etc ). Product qualification de-risking and standards compliance validation will be scheduled and performed at independent accredited test laboratories.
It’s the role of the Product Qualification Engineer to ensure that all products are tested against the relevant and requested standards, safeguarding that the relevant and correct procedures are applied by the independent test laboratory.
As a Product Qualification Engineer you make sure all equipment under test is configured correctly and end to end validation systems including the EUT, auxiliary- and monitoring equipment are set up according prescriptions provided either by NOKIA or as required in the specific standards.
Engineering degree or a degree in Computer Science / Telecommunications / Electronic (or you are obtaining it this year) or have up to 5 years of experience.
You have a broad interest in HW design (mainly analog).
Broad interest in the Telecom sector.
Knowledge of qualifications standards (ANSI, ETSI, MII), ECAD design tools (Mentor Graphics / Valor), xDSL is an asset.
