3 x Production Shift Technician (2 x Virus Production / 1 x Purification)

Shift Pattern - 7am - 6 : 15pm (2on 2off 5on 5off)
Role Purpose Production Shift Technician(Virus Production)
You will be working in a restricted accessarea with other technicians to produce 4000-6000L batches of inactivated Footand Mouth Disease (FMD) or Bluetongue Virus (BTV) virus antigens, respectingfull company and UK Biosafety, Health and Safety (HSE), and Good ManufacturingPractise (GMP) standards.
Participate in the production of inactivated Foot and MouthDisease (FMD) or Blue Tongue Virus Disease (BTV) on the Pirbright site fullyrespecting UK and company Biosafety / Biosecurity, HSE, and GMP standards.
Ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) supply to the next step in theproduction process.
Cleaning and steam sterilisation of the plant and equipment inaccordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Maintenance of the production environment in a clean and tidystate compatible with GMP.
Accurate recording, documentation and reporting of data related tothe production process to Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Line Manager, andProduction Management team.
Using appropriate sterile equipment and procedures, taking asepticin-process samples for testing by QC, fully respecting SOP requirements.
Operation of the CSC-20 industrial centrifuge.
Staff members may be required to carry out similar duties in otherareas of the Pirbright Site according to business needs.
Knowledge / Skills
Good organisational skills and an ability to work in a team of 4-5operators, and also to work during shift periods with one other operator or asan individual.
Ability to work methodically and carefully according to tightdeadlines.
Ideally, experience of some form of industrial production(pharmaceutical) in a similarly regulated environment.
Basic to Intermediate IT skills.
General science background / Interest, especially industrialbiology / microbiology not essential but desirable.
