As a Operations Manager you are responsible to oversee, direct and manage all aspects of thehotel’s operations at the highest level of excellence under the guidance of theGeneral Manager and within the limits of established local hotel andInterContinental Hotels Group policies and procedures.

Your day-to-day :

  • Supervise the overall activities of RoomsDivision (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Duty Management) and Food & BeverageDepartments (Restaurant, Bar, Room Service,Banqueting and Minibar) and the functioning of all employees, facilities, salesand costs, to ensure maximum operational efficiency and results
  • Monitor the personnel of all operations toensure guests receive prompt service, cordial attention and personalrecognition by maintaining appropriate standards of conduct, dress / uniforms,hygiene, appearance and posture
  • Control and analyse the performance on anon-going basis, in order to optimize the following :
  • Quality levels ofproduct and service
  • Guest satisfaction(Heartbeat scores)
  • Merchandising andmarketing (internal)
  • Operating costs
  • Sanitation andcleanliness (hygiene)
  • Colleague Heartbeat - Employee Satisfaction Survey results andaction plans
  • Conduct weekly Operations meetings relating to,but not limited to, the following :
  • Overall financialresults and profitability
  • Projected business
  • Operations results andproblems
  • Changes in procedures
  • New management policies
  • Sales improvement
  • Productivityimprovement
  • Encourage an effective and fruitfulcollaboration together with the Sales Department in order to maximize therevenues and results
  • Supervise and coordinate pricing and preparationof menus, beverage and wine lists by taking into consideration such factors as :
  • Potential costs
  • Availability of Foodand Beverage products
  • Merchandising andpromotions
  • Profitability
  • Coordinate with the Manager of Finance andBusiness Support to determine the minimum and maximum food and beverage parstocks.
  • Approves all wine purchases and other Food and Beverage items inaccordance with IHG quality and quantity standards

  • Secure that Materials Control purchasing andstorage system is managed and utilised to its maximum potential
  • Supervises daily, weekly and monthly checklistsfor all departments. Ensures proper follow-up to attain maximum quality andefficiency
  • Schedules and regularly conducts routineinspections of areas under control
  • Supervise comprehensive monthly departmentalmeetings to include review of procedures and events which warrant specialhandling and detailed information
  • Monitors and controls the inventories foroperating equipment and supplies in order to secure that resources areavailable
  • Prepare, manage and achieve the department’s budget.Duties include :
  • Prepare and manage acost effective budget with measurable targets for department within thefinancial parameters set down by the hotel budget
  • Effectively monitor andanalyse variations from the budget
  • Develop systems thatmeasure the cost effectiveness of the departments
  • Develop procedures thattrack, report on, and control the running costs of the department
  • Contribute to the overall strategic plan of thebusiness and help compile the annual hotel business plan
  • Keep abreast of trends in your area andimplement best practice initiatives
  • Develop a competitive business plan for youroperational area and communicate this to your operational colleagues and staff
  • Lead renovation and construction projects
  • Qualifications

  • Hotelschool or similar education.
  • You have minimal of 4 years of international experience in anexecutive position in a similar size andclassification hotel.
  • You speak and write English and French or Dutch fluently.
  • You are stress resistant
  • You have good communication skills.
  • You have experience in training, leading andmotivating employees.
  • You are a teambuilder
  • You are guest-oriented
