Join ExxonMobil as a Product Trader. Each trader works as partof a small team, negotiating purchases and sales of products in thehighly dynamic and challenging global oil market.

The activity isdriven by developing the commercial opportunities forExxonMobil’s refineries production. This commercial roleis responsible for the development and delivery of products tradingstrategies with end-

to-end ownership of alldeals.

Primary jobfunctions

  • MarketAnalysis Every day the trader is required todemonstrate a deep understanding of the complex markets that theyare trading in -
  • both to align the internal organization behind anystrategy and to be able to negotiateeffectively.

  • Communication; Briefing,Persuading / Influencing and Aligning trader willprovide a market brief to the teams they are interacting with toalign on a trading strategy to maximize valuecapture
  • Counter Party Relationship Building -an essential part of the role that the trader is able to buildstrong relationships with other 3rd party traders enablingeffective negotiation with parties coming from a wide range ofcountries and cultures.
  • Analysis the trader will be required to analyze each specific productmarket, including competitors’ assessments leveraging areasonable level of understanding of the economics of downstreamrefining and logistics.
  • Negotiation negotiations with a variety of 3rd parties, while relatively shortin duration, are complex and challenging, requiring a strongattention to detail.
  • The traders are active in the market everyday, typically concluding several deals per week - each deal havinga value of several milion usd.

  • ContractAdministration The traders work with support contractadministration staff to ensure that all trades are effectivelydocumented and controlled.

  • Expected Level ofProficiency


    Master's degree orabove in Science, Technology, Engineering, Finance or Mathematicsfrom a recognized university.

    Minimum of 10years work experience in distillate trading, mainly in Europeanmarkets.Experience on both physical and deivativesmarket.

    Excellent interpersonal, communication,influencing and negotiation skills. Effective team player. Able toperform swift analysis of market data and identify commercialopportunities.

    Proficient and fluent inEnglish.
