Solid state battery will be one of the largest opportunity of grow in the coming years, but is also one of the fields with a broader need of innovation, in the products and, as well, in the fabrication processes.
The Solid State Battery Applicability (SSBA) lab located in Brussels NOH R&I center is currently looking for a Scientist (M / F) to internalize some competence in assembling and testing solid state pouch cell batteries with the final aim to characterize and improve Solvay materials used in the different battery’s components.
Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Scientist (M / F) will be in charge of developing the expertise and the technology to assembly solid state pouch cells (up to 1 Ah size) in collaboration with a team of expert laboratory technicians and several scientists of SSBA Lab.
Being the final scope the evaluation of Solvay’s materials in battery, it is important to build each layer of the battery properly and to set the right conditions for testing.
The aim of this activity is either to provide guidance for the Solvay’s material improvement and to develop the right procedures for its use to Solvay’s customers.
The candidate will report to the SSBA Lab manager and interact on daily basis with the battery teams in Brussels, Bollate (IT) and Paris (FR).Main objectives :
Education and Experience
The applicant (M / F) should hold a degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science or equivalent formation and a PhD or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience at industrial level in the battery field is requested, ideally in solid state batteries. A proven record of collaborative projects involving industrial / private stakeholders and customers would be a plus.
