We are currently looking for a motivated Strategy Director, based in our HQ in Brussels who will mainly be working on our EU institutional clients (European Commission, European Parliament).

Major Task Headings

  • Responsible for providing inspiration from grounded consumer insights that will give way to ideas that accelerate brand success across a variety of clients
  • Acting as key brand consultant to clients ito classical brand architecture & brand positioning work as well as developing overarching communication plans, messaging platforms;
  • best practice ito ATL, Digital and Social communication development and implementation including driving appropriate measurement / ensuring effectiveness of work

  • Ensure collaboration with both network and partner agencies and final responsible for all strategies delivered
  • Responsibilities

  • Define and understand the core target audience, ito demographics, psychographics, behavior and attitudinal mindsets across ATL, Digital and Social channels and across different countries / regions
  • Develop and apply insight to shape brand development and product platform ideation
  • Construct brand idea, architecture, positioning and value propositions
  • Provide clear, compelling creative direction through succinct creative brief writing, including developing messaging hierarchy
  • Stay current and connected to popular culture in order to identify and predict relevant trends
  • Be able to lead cross discipline teams within Ogilvy globally and with sister agencies, i.e. Research, Creative, PR, Digital, Media, Retail to develop excellent integrated brand activity that drives brand growth for our Clients
  • Together with the account director, lead the client relationship and act as senior client partner
  • Lead and grow a junior strategic planner
  • Education & Experience

  • Degree in Marketing is preferable
  • 8-12 years+ experience as agency planner, including team management experience
  • Experience with or knowledge of institutional / governmental communications is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of communications planning, brand growth strategies, consumer insight development
  • Keen interest in the European Union, its mission and its activities
  • Successful applicants will :

  • Excellent speaking and written level of English, other languages are a plus
  • Be Research savvy - understand how to apply qualitative and quantitative learning
  • Be cultural voyeurs - know how to tap into pop culture, scope relevant trends
  • Possess strong critical thinking skills - analytical, creative and lateral
  • Be curious and questioning of consumer behavior
  • Can tell and sell a story with strong presentation and writing skills
  • Be digitally savvy and up to date with social media developments
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
  • Be available for frequent domestic travel to Clients as needed
