The Customer Software, Clinical and Research Platforms department is currently looking for a Software Engineer based in our location in Mechelen.
This role is to complement the team in charge of the development of libraries that abstract the Hardware communication allowing other teams to develop user applications without low-level knowledge of the Hardware.
The team is in charge of a grown and still growing set of libraries.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing the software drivers in C++, and where needed to develop application code in C# in a .
NET environment that provides communication with the above-mentioned software libraries.
Key responsibilities
Understand the proposed architecture and contribute as needed to assure flawless interaction with cochlear implants and sound processors.
Develop, prototype and verify software libraries developed in C++ and C#, as well as interfacing with the functionalities implemented in firmware and other software libraries.
Also, when needed, contribute to development of desktop application code in C# in a .NET environment.
Contribute to engineering analysis activities including brainstorming, concept generation, risk analysis, and design reviews.
Collaborate to an open and effective communication between firmware, software and system team-members involved in the project.
Key requirements
To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience :
University degree in software or software engineering
Passionate developer with experience in C++ and C#. Knowledge of .NET.
Knowledge of electronics is a plus.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a full cycle commercial software development environment
Familiar with Agile development
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
