WHAT YOU'LL DO

Product Managers play a critical role in Bain’s ability to deliver outstanding results for our clients through the development, deployment and commercialization of our key products.

Our products are critical to our competitiveness and need to be constantly evolving; because of this, the role is entrepreneurial by nature.

You'll bring an owner’s mindset, contributing to the overall product vision and driving operations.

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who has a strong interest in leading the ongoing development of one of our most critical product platforms the Bain Brand Accelerator ( BBA ).

The BBA is the distinctive and proven Bain approach to brand growth strategy, helping revitalize brands and bring them to full potential, with a multi-year investment plan across key brand assets.

It is at the core of our Consumer-led Growth platform and is closely linked to our other key products in B2C Marketing Excellence and B2B Commercial Excellence, including eCommerce, Key Account Management and Sales Execution.

As the consumer product landscape continues to rapidly shift with increased impact of digital marketing and ecommerce along with the proliferation of consumer demand spaces and channels, remaining at the forefront of these changes by bringing the latest perspectives, analytical tools and ecosystems into play will be a critical part of this role.

You'll be responsible for building out the business, driving commercialization efforts with current and prospective clients.

In addition, the Product Manager will be responsible for the continuous development and deployment of the BBA product. This involves developing leading-edge thinking on the topic of brand growth and keeping the tools and databases used by case teams serving client work current.

Core responsibilities related to the management of the BBA product include :

  • Support Go-To-Market strategyPlay active role driving product commercialization with existing and prospective clients, including leading client development proposals, planning client roadshow and developing tailored microsites Provide advisory and thought-leadership to case teams on BBA-related client cases by bringing them the best-of-Bain materials and coordinating with the Consumer Product Center of Expertise ( CP CoE )Develop supporting marketing collateral, including content for briefs, videos, conferences or partner speaking eventsCollaborate with Marketing on product packaging’ (branding, visual design) and other enabling teams (Digital, Advanced Analytics, etc.
  • to incorporate into the productSupport the deployment of IP internally, building awareness with Consumer Products affiliates and creating training platforms Track commercial traction and support ongoing product operations (incl.

    inputting into annual IP and marketing planning processes)

  • Support Next Generation Product DevelopmentIdentify opportunities for continuous product improvement, further enhancing our proprietary toolkits (methods, playbooks, analytics, software, etc.
  • Play key role in IP development, including building our proprietary methodologies, designing analytics toolkits, creating selling materials and delivering affiliates training programsCoordinate with our creatives in the ADAPT team, our digital marketers in our FRWD team and Bain data scientists and engineering teams on tool / software developmentWork closely with teams in our CP CoE who are responsible for the delivery of the analytics to our client teamsBecome a true expert in the field, building personal credentials in order to drive demand for expertise Develop an external network, cultivate relationships with key organizations

  • Reinforce / Update Product foundationsActively contribute to Product roadmap definition, working with product leaders to articulate a vision and action plan for the product, with active backlog managementSupport the continuous improvement of our tools and benchmarks, and ensure our consumer-led growth hooks remain fresh and evergreenSynthesize new learnings / insights from client teams to drive innovation and enhance our BBA product, including codifying case studies, testimonials and relevant benchmarks on an ongoing basisMaintain competitive scan and identify potential third party partners or experts to build out our ecosystem
  • Required :

  • BA or equivalent
  • 4+ years of professional working experience, with 2+ years of current or recent consulting experience at the Consultant level with a leading consulting firm
  • Passion for Consumer Products
  • Strong abilities in problem definition and problem-solving
  • Ability to quickly pick up, structure and lead complex business research and analysis in a fast-paced environment, as well as the skills to drive to pragmatic business insights
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions (strong Excel skills)
  • Demonstrated organizational / time management skills
  • A proven self-starter with the ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable and effective working with what could be a remote supervisor and team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience and proficiency creating high quality presentations
  • Excellent oral, written, and PowerPoint communication skills
  • Ability to lead interactions and establish credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Preferred :

  • Consumer Products experience, either during consulting projects or within industry
  • Experience in project management (product management a plus)
  • Prior experience using tools to analyze and visualize large data-sets (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau)
