THE ROLE

The Marketing and Communication Advisor will support the Head of Marketing and Business Development in the delivery of a broad range of key marketing and business development activities and communication for the Belgian offices in Antwerp and Brussels, designed to grow the firm's visibility in the market.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support on client development and targeting activities such as events - and international programmes
  • Provide input for local, internal and external communication on the intranet and website
  • Development and management of competitive products and services including pitches, RFP’s, client presentations and other BD documentation
  • Provide support for Client / Business Development related internal and external communications activities
  • Produce key Marketing and Business Development reports as requested by the location
  • Translating the firm-wide client strategy into a pragmatic local approach
  • Contributing information and ideas as part of the marketing strategy process and as part of a larger team
  • Production and implementation of marketing plans
  • Development of effective channels to market and provide support to lawyers and clients going to market
  • Managing and supporting client relationships
  • Contributing to the creation, building and management of the DLA Piper brand
  • Exchange of information with others inside and outside of the marketing function
  • Supporting the evaluation of ethical codes to ensure marketing activities are compliant
  • Assist in managing the budgets and activities in line with the Marketing guidelines
  • SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, International Business, Law, Languages, Communication, Political and Social Science and / or other related field from a leading university
  • A minimum of two to three years' experience within legal or professional services (law, audit, banking, consultancy)
  • Excellent command of English (verbal and written) - native Dutch or French preferred
  • Good understanding of marketing communications and experience with the full range of tools available in the marketing mix is essential
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Experience dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload and conflicting priorities
  • Multi-tasker able to work against tight to deadlines; methodical and logical in approach, able to thrive in a robust and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to see delegated tasks through to completion at a high standard
  • Experience with Excel, Word and Outlook (InterAction / CRM systems are beneficial)
