What is a weather forecaster’s job at skeyes?
From the central forecasting office in Steenokkerzeel you work in a team comprised of three meteorologists. As a weather forecaster you obviously forecast the weather, but you also draw up warning messages for the airport of Brussels and the Belgian airspace.
You also make specific forecasts to support air traffic control, sport aviation (balloonists, glider pilots) and General Aviation .
You brief your fellow meteorologists working at other Belgian airports by telephone. Apart from that, pilots and balloonists can also contact you for more details on their planned flight.
As you acquire more experience and expertise, you will also be able to participate in projects related to the various aspects of aeronautical meteorology.
