As New Product Development Portfolio Manager EU4, you are part of our NPD Project Management team, that is in charge of driving and launching new product developments and innovations from start (ideation) to end (sales) on a global level.
In this role, you focus on driving the product innovation roadmap for the EU4 countries (Belgium & Luxemburg, The Netherlands, UK and Germany).
You capture the local product development needs & ideas; facilitate and challenge them; advise on solutions and way forward;
and consolidate towards management in order to accelerate and excel our product portfolio in EU4.
Next to that, you are the Project Manager for EU4 centric projects. You manage the project flow throughout our different departments (R&D, Supply Chain, Packaging, Finance, Marketing & Sales), and guide the cross-
functional teams to enable the deployment and activation of marketing innovation in the local markets.
In this role, based at Alpro's headoffice in Ghent, you are part of the EU4 Marketing & Innovation team, and report directly to the Int.
Marketing Director NPD Project Management & Packaging.
Key Responsibilities :
Be in the driving seat on the EU4 portfolio innovation roadmap :
Work with the countries to drive the innovation agenda and accelerate implementation in the market. Share and reapply what works and what has to be improved.
Lead tailormade product and packaging innovations from concept to in market delivery for EU4 on a country by country base
Manage the NPD EU4 Product Portfolio & Funnel
Be the EU4 innovation champion in cross fertilizing EU4 born innovations towards the broader plant-based community within Danone
Be the innovation process guardian :
Consolidate the business cases for EU4, at the different stages
Prepare the international Portfolio Meeting
Communicate status on running innovation projects (together with other NPD Project Managers) in meetings and regular fora.
Take ownership in ensuring input from the countries is consistently taken into account as well as clear EU4 roles & responsibilities process is in place for quick decision making and in market delivery
Prepare status update presentations for EU Board and senior management (e.g. General Manager Alpro, Vice President Europe Danone, Chief Growth Officer Danone, etc.)
Be ruthless at post-launch :
Track EU4 innovations on a monthly basis
Be the driving force on key action plan reinforcement or turn around
Project Management for EU4 centric projects :
Project Initiation and Implementation : You translate the product charters (what) in project charters (how). You define the scope, budget, timing and internal business parameters.
You perform a risk analysis, lead the international innovation projects (breakthrough / line extension and upgrades) across all countries and channels.
You manage and coach the cross-functional teams in order to drive the project implementation and to achieve the project deliverables within the defined timings and budgets, conform to the strategy.
Requirements analysis : You identify the milestones, risks and process, product and packaging specifications in the project.
You advise the Marketing team in defining the product charter concepts in order to cross-functionally manage and keep the project portfolio up-to-date.
Project KPI's : You initiate and lead international strategic branded innovation and product life cycle management projects (breakthrough / line extension and upgrades) across all channels and countries.
Doing so, you achieve the project deliverables within the defined timings and budgets and conform to the strategy.
You hold a Master Degree in e.g. Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent through experience.
You have +5 years of experience, in Marketing and / or Sales within a FMCG environment, preferable in a A-brand food company.
It goes without saying that you have strong project management skills and strong communication and influencing (convincing & impacting) skills.
You can rely on your solid marketing and sales experience in order to challenge the local marketing teams with building Product Marketing business cases.
You are strong in cross-functional and strategic critical thinking and love to facilitate, advice and support.
You combine sound analytical skills with the ability to develop strong insights and concepts, using this to a maximum to leverage the business results.
You are fluent in English (any additional language is a plus).
You are open for travel to the local European countries.
