To strengthen our Manufacturing, Engineering & HSE Department , basedin Braine-l’Alleud (Belgium) we are looking for a talented individual (m / f) to fill the position of : Head of Global Health, Safety & Well-being (HSWB) .
As a Head of Global Health, Safety & Well-being , your main responsibilities are :
To develop and be ing accountable for Health, Safety & Well-being pillar of UCB Sustainability Program. Report progress and proposed directions to the UCB Sustainability Committee.
This in order to drive UCB’s ambition to be a top tier performer as related to collaborators (internal & external) Safety, Health & Well-being (ensure no one gets hurt at UCB and everyone can return safely at home) while ensuring flawless compliance across operations.
To lead the Global HSWB department and coach local functional teams. Build an efficient organization to meet current and future needs and support the development of individuals’ skills and abilities.
To timely identify and address societal and industry trends or gaps related to Employee Safety, Health & Wellbeing.
To d evelop and implement integrated global HS WB Management Systems in relevant strategies allowing for a consistent and structured approach towards o.
a. the identification and mitigation of HSWB related risks and opportunities, short and long-term planning of HSWB programs, setting and reporting of HSWB key performance indicators, management reviews consultation and engagement of internal stakeholders.
To design and drive key HSWB programs throughout the value chain aimed at positively impact employee’s health, safety and wellbeing and grow HSWB awareness and culture.
To deliver agreed short and long-term performance targets.
To develop appropriate story line and communication strategy to promote a culture of accountability, practice sharing, learning, visible safety leadership and care in UCB.
To ensure business leaders include relevant Health, Safety and Environmental considerations and criteria into their decision-making processes and have them implemented throughout their organizations.
To systematically screen and analyse evolving HSWB-related regulations and legislation, ensuring a thorough understanding and mitigation planning to ensure full compliance.
To maintain a company wide crisis management and escalation system; lead or participate in HS acute and severe crisis;
escalade corporate risks to the UCB Corporate Risk Management Committee.
To generate data and cases study to allow proper and engaging HSWB communication (internally and externally), to strategy and issue the ESG section of UCB’s integrated annual report and to respond to investor inquiries.
To perform regular benchmarks with peer companies but also internally to assess UCB’s HSWB ambition and performance and derive related action plan.
To represent UCB at international industry / biopharma associations.
I nterested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills :
Master’s Degree preferred.
Certification as Safety Advisor level 1 is required.
15 years experience in an international industrial environment, with a minimum of 10 years experience in a HS(E) management / leadership position.
Knowledgeable about well-being trends and levers.
Ability to analyze current and evolving legislation and assess their potential impact.
Understanding of key concepts : risk assessment, behavior based safety,
Having developed an external network of peers.
Very good command in English (both written and spoken).
Soft skills :
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to engage, connect, influence and shape the business from an Health & Safety point of view.
Be a strategic and tactical change agent through communication and influencing through networks.
Excellent and wide communication skills, from shopfloor operation leaders up to CEO, industrial experts and opinion leaders.
Fast learner, ability to analyze current and evolving legislation and assess their potential impact.
Have a strong sense of ownership with a pragmatic and result-oriented drive for innovation.
