What you will do

As a medior member of EDiT’s Mobility & Logistics cluster you will be responsible for scoping and supporting Logistics projects and supported solution(s) (components) based on knowledge and insights into the Logistics sector and its ecosystem.

  • This includes knowledge into the main stakeholders and current (wicked) problems. Key activities are communicating with and involving stakeholders within these innovation projects;
  • analyzing, summarizing and communicating the insights and lessons learned out of these interactions; supporting the functional analysts, innovation specialists and other functional profiles in designing, conducting, reporting, scoping and co-creating workshops;
  • as well as interviewing, desk research and testing activities.

    As a Business Analyst for Logistics you will also join EDiT’s Business and Domain Experts competence centre, where we will provide coaching, arrange training, evaluate and fine-tune your role and responsibilities, and plan your path within EDiT / imec together.

    Additionally, through our EDiT Communities of Practice initiative, you will regularly interact with other developers, architects, designers, and user researchers across EDiT.

    Who you are

    We are looking for a medior business analyst in the domain of Logistics (+ / - 5 years of relevant experience).

    You are expected to

  • Make analyses based on knowledge of the wicked problems, the ecosystem and the solution(s) at hand in order to scope and advance innovation projects
  • Build and maintain strong relations with all relevant (Quadruple Helix) stakeholders in the logistics domain
  • Have a good knowledge on the stakeholders : their relationships, needs and challenges in the domain of intermodal / synchromodal transport, urban logistics, physical internet, supply chain management
  • Scope innovation opportunities and projects in terms of the business needs and EDiT’s strategic roadmap and solution components
  • Provide insights into the main business processes of stakeholders in the target domain
  • Being able to understand and formulate business model implications
  • Co-)Design new business models based on EDiT’s solutions

  • Spotting opportunities for improvement and for applications of EDiT’s solutions
  • Contribute to the business development of cluster opportunities (partners, problem & state-of-the-art definition,...)
  • Must-haves

  • Master or PhD degree in business, engineering, management, or equivalent
  • Experience with funded projects and proposal writing (SBO VLAIO, ICON, Horizon Europe etc.)
  • An innovative mindset, capable of organizing and workshops
  • Affinity with co-creation and business modeling
  • Strong social and communication skills to manage a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset
  • Passion for research, business and new technologies
  • Eager to learn
  • Could-haves

  • Operations research background / experience
  • Keen on exploring the applicability and relevance of data spaces in logistics (such as DTLF, GAIA-X, Flemish Sensor Data Space etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Digital Twins and their potential value in the logistics domain
  • A strong network of local stakeholders in the domain of urban logistics, and a solid understanding of the needs and challenges of local authorities, logistics companies, cities in this domain.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
