For our Cardiac Arrhythmia and Heart Failure division, we are recruiting a Senior Specialist, Marketing Communications.

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist contributes to a high-performing marketing communication, protecting and strengthening the Abbott brand by developing and executing regional integrated, multi-

channel communication strategies that drive global consistency in messaging, collecting success metrics, and working at a broader portfolio-level to enable sales.

He / She will closely collaborate with colleagues who represent both global and regional Sales & Marketing, Digital, Congresses & Event, Brand and Creative Services.

This individual will report to the Manager External Communication EMEA and will manage and develop the EMEA marketing communications based in Brussels to ensure our regional product launch strategies focus on key priority markets, while supporting the company’s strategic goals, initiatives and priorities.

Role and Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute measurable, multi-channel communications strategies and sales enabling campaigns to support the commercialization of Abbott solutions for the Cardiac Arrhythmia and Heart Failure division.
  • Create, lead and execute initiatives to enhance the sales enablement communications and tools for the regional sales organization, using established department procedures and tools
  • Builds relationships with key country leadership teams in order to effectively execute marketing communications programs in support of country specific and global Abbott priorities.
  • Contribute to regional product positioning, messaging, naming and creative development working with in-country stakeholders.
  • Develops a deep understanding Abbott Cardiac Arrhythmia and Heart Failure products and the diseases these solutions address, and the customers and patients who benefit from our solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of competitor products, marketing and promotional programs and the nuances of different geographies and selling divisions to ensure communication campaigns enable the sales organizations.

  • Accountable for delivery of the campaign management process from kickoff to regular (monthly or quarterly) data reports and updates that encompasses budget and measurable results.
  • Accountable for budget management and regular (monthly or quarterly) reporting of campaign results and the implementation of best practices to ensure ongoing efficiencies.
  • Forecast and manage budget and timelines at the deliverable level.

  • Contribute to the development of the communications annual operating plan and budget plan.
  • Works collaboratively across the company to ensure plans and activities are coordinated and integrated. Complies with regulatory bodies’ regulations, other regulatory agency requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Partner and collaborate with outside agencies / vendors to ensure initiatives meet expectations.
  • Coordinate with other internal business partners (Congresses / PR / Digital / Sales / Education) as appropriate, to ensure alignment on IMCP (Integrated Marketing Communication Plan) / regional tactics and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with peers in Marketing and Marketing Communications; Project Management, Operations, Digital, Brand, Congresses & Events, Creative Services, Public Relations, and Internal Communications to align on product launches, campaigns, process, strategies, best practices and efficiencies.
  • For all print and digital collateral and support materials, maintain appropriate compliance usage and adequate inventory to support internal and external customers.
  • The required competencies / experiences :

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in marketing communication
  • Experience in the healthcare / medical device industry is an asset, willingness to learn about the medical industry is required
