The International Social Research Team within Ipsos’ Social Research Institute has grown rapidly in the last few years. We work on major international studies across policy areas with a very wide range of multi-

national organisations including the European Commission, UN bodies, International Financial Institutions, Aid Departments, Foundations and NGOs.

The position

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the International Social Research Team for an experienced research manager or project manager to join the team, based either in Brussels, Belgium or London, UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a variety of high profile projects with involvement at all stages.

Themain responsibilities will include :

  • Managing multi-country projects with the support from senior team members
  • Managing project teams to deliver projects on time and expected quality standards
  • Working with large and remote teams, briefing local agencies and monitoring progress
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to working practices, internally and with external fieldwork suppliers
  • Input into survey and questionnaire design
  • Resource planning and budget management
  • Quality assurance tasks throughout the project lifetime
  • Technical and analytical reporting
  • Client relationship development
  • Contributing to international social research proposals
  • What we are looking for

    The successful candidate will have relevant work experience and will demonstrate a number of the following key skills and attributes :

  • Strong project management skills, with experience of large-scale, multi-country studies being particularly desirable;
  • Ability to manage multiple takes to deadline
  • Previous social research experience
  • Experience with applying different quantitative and / or qualitative research techniques;
  • Experience of working with / for governments, international organisations or other public sector organisations;
  • A willingness to travel overseas;
  • An excellent command of the English language.
  • Language skills are preferred but not essential
  • Advanced Excel and SPSS skills
  • A project management qualification is desired but not essential
