Reporting Line : Head of Value Chain CDS

Business Objective :

Support the transformation of CDS BU & CHN Capsules performance to consistently deliver Gross Profit >

50% .

Role : Purpose & Expectation

Work with the Head of Value Chain in the gross profit transformation by executing a portfolio of analyses and projects in the field of Commercial, Operations and Supply Chain to help manage profit improvement plans within a disciplined control and review process.

Translate your experience and knowledge using the global Lonza network (LPB / LSI) in pursuit of the business goal to support long-

term sustainable profit growth .

Primary responsibilities :

  • Operate as a point of contact for the respective commercial, operations and supply chain stakeholders, on gross profit focused cross-
  • functional projects (e.g. Operations, R&T, etc) to ensure profit improvement

  • Maintain key terms contract matrix, identifying commercial weaknesses that erode margin and jointly develop execution plans with commercial development and sales teams to reduce future commercial risk
  • Participate as a team member in associated value chain projects (external to the BU) designed to positively impact gross profit
  • Help develop a robust business process and control cycle to ensure costed production standards are reflected in initial Production Order set-
  • up to surface problems early, and establish corrective actions at a minimum to protect signed margin

  • Help co-ordinating management of virtual profit improvement teams, actively engaging and collaborating at the earliest practicable opportunity post signature to ensure all major products have documented profit improvement plans
  • Help maintaining effective end-to-end business process and project control mechanisms including key initiatives (Anchor) and performance metrics, surfacing and facilitating the resolution of issues to drive and deliver planned margin improvements
  • Help ensuring secured commercial contracts are aligned to high leverage raw materials supply chain contracts supporting strong negotiation position to deliver incremental margin through effective supply chain leverage
  • Help evaluating raw material listing and holistic business trade-offs, including purchase cost saving v plant cost absorption to determine appropriate make / buy strategies
  • Participate actively in Production Order Variance (POV) review meetings with Manufacturing and PM teams for key products identifying jointly agreed permanent corrective action / improvement plans to ensure lessons learned review
  • Manage the annual product standard cost Target Bridges’ process output, translating key target’ actions into must do / upside profit plans to support delivery of annual GP target
  • Support commercial development and sales teams during project acquisition phase, for identified strategic projects, with pro-
  • active product profit improvement plan to support successfully securing new business

  • Qualifications and Background :

  • Background in (commercial and) operations roles within a GMP environment
  • Degree-qualified in a Scientific / Engineering discipline
  • Strong track record of execution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through to delivery
  • Able to deal effectively at all levels of an organisation
  • Team orientated with good network and consensus building capabilities
