Job Purpose

The GSK Expert Field team’s purpose is to drive firm recommendation of GSK therapeutic oral care products by delivering key clinical messages for prioritised brands to Dental Health Care Professionals.

  • The Field Sales Manager Dental Expert role purpose within GSK is primarily one of people development, leadership and direction of a field-based team of 6 Dental Sales Reps whilst working cross functionally in and above country to build plans to drive our business and performance within the Dental expert channel
  • As a first line leader, coaching, performance management and development of the team is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Hence, this role requires an individual who has exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills, great enthusiasm for driving a team forward and a natural ability to develop people to reach their full potential so that they can deliver a competitive advantage for our products.

  • To be an active member of the BeLux Leadership Team, representing the Dental Expert team but also contributing to leading the operation of the LOC and the overarching agendas of;
  • People, Performance and Risk management

    Your responsibilities :

    You will be responsible for :

  • To lead a team of 4 Field Sales Representatives including coaching, development and performance management. Ensuring formal monthly check in’s and associated documentation.
  • Enabling the day to day running of the team including sample and materials availability to achieve the required performance

  • Coaching & Feedback, upwards of 30% of time spent in field on accompaniment with the team to provide coaching, feedback and direction.
  • Embedding the Academy skills and knowledge. Development of team including regular development conversations, performance & KPI follow up & input into talent review for team.

  • Responsible for the engagement of the team including understanding the factors that drive and drain, leading initiatives to drive engagement and contributing to Country engagement agendas
  • To appropriately prioritize and enable effective targeting and segmentation of customers via effective CRM and territory management working with the Area Commercial Excellence team as necessary.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to help shape and deliver future Expert Sales and Marketing strategy.
  • Customer Contact : to be able to effectively communicate campaign activities and requirements to all team members and ensure perfect execution of these with the region.
  • Budget Accountability : deliver all targets to budget, proactively monitor and track team spend. Work with Expert Manager to ensure full year budget delivery on samples and materials
  • Measurement & Achievement : taking leadership for the delivery of all core performance objectives, metrics, and targets via effective empowerment of individuals within the area team
  • To look for ways that GSK’s science can be leveraged harder with the experts, work with the expert manager to bring this to life and then deliver through your team to make our brands the first recommendation choice.
  • To be the primary GSK contact for all Dental related trade associations, building a yearly engagement plan including assuring GSK presence at congresses and organizing key events such as study clubs
  • To develop GSK’s presence and contact with the various Universities specializing in Dental and Mouth Hygiene. Working with the team to position GSK as the first partner of choice to achieve future No.
  • 1 recommendation from the future HCP’s

    Basic Qualifications :

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals :

  • 5+ years of experience in the Pharmacy / Expert channel in Belgium
  • Fluent in Dutch, French & English both Spoken and written
  • Demonstrate effective targeting and segmentation of customers
  • Experience of product detailing and working with experts
  • Experience of managing a field team in the Pharmacy / Dental Expert Channel
  • Previous experience in a field sales role and / or Customer / Trade Marketing, Key Account Management or Brand Management
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Strong track record of people & team management including driving performance
  • University education Marketing, Business, Economics
  • Demonstrate effective team work and the ability to make decisions strategically

  • Strong commercial & financial acumen
  • A skilled negotiator, influencer and communicator
  • Resilient, team player who can stay motivated and motivate others under challenge
  • Good knowledge of GSK therapeutic oral care brands and the science behind them
