Job Description : Operational Buyer
Huntsman have an opportunity for an Italian speaking Operational Buyer to join our Corporate Purchasing team in Everberg.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will focus on Site Purchasing Liaison, acting as the daily operational business link between purchasing and one of our manufacturing sites.
You will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at the site and acquire and in-depth knowledge of the business needs aligned with the agreed business strategic-
and tactical plans and according KPI’s.
Additionally, as the Operational Buyer, you will :
Ensure that the proposed and applied purchasing solutions meet the site’s tactical, commercial and operational requirements.
Create purchase orders for raw materials, packaging and services in accordance with agreed purchasing processes and in compliance with corporate contracts and all other relevant EHS, regulatory and company standards.
Collaborate with your purchasing colleagues, and other functions (for example, finance, legal, S2P) to ensure that all required information is available for OTIF placement and execution of necessary SAP transactions (Info Records, Purchase Orders), and contribute to the appropriate part for a full P2P solution.
Ensure that the site supply chain stakeholders are kept up to date with raw materials delivery schedules and work together to solve supply constraint situations.
Hold the direct link to local suppliers as relevant and their networks.
If appropriate you perform routine sourcing tactics like price enquiries, quotation analyses and negotiate best terms and conditions with suppliers.
Share experiences with peers and report updates during internal team meetings.
Deliver savings as per agreed levels with you management.
This position requires a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
Fluent oral and written language skills in Italian and English.
Professional experience, ideally in an operational environment, for example purchasing, supply chain, logistics, customer services or credit.
Strong communication skills and a commercial understanding, comfortable in communicating over the phone and face to face on site.
Capability of working under pressure.
Ability to work to deadlines, often working with a sense of urgency.
Good all round IT skills, with knowledge of SAP beneficial.
Previous experience in the chemical sectors is beneficial, however not essential.
