The challenge :
As EHS Manager you support our departments in safety, wellbeing and environment. This by ensuring that processes are in place to reach compliance with the Environmental Health & Safety rules and regulation.
You manage the plant-by-products and waste output to maximize revenues and minimize plant waste while maintaining compliance with local regulation and company guidelines.
The goals is to execute the legally prescribed tasks of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager for the brewery of Hoegaarden.
You are responsible of the implementation of the Safety Pillar in our Management system and the full ownership of the Safety Pillar and the Environmental Pillar.
What will you be doing :
You will be part of the Management Team of Hoegaarden brewery
You will be the driver of EHS by investigating, consultation of your stakeholders (and managing them) and implementation of actions.
Maintaining the EHS policies and standards included in the Safety and the Environmental Pillar : act as a plant leader regarding EHS policies and standards for Hoegaarden.
Management of EHS permits for Hoegaarden brewery
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Lead by example
Contact with authorities. Fire prevention. Local EHS crisis management. Liaison with Insurance company. Ensure that all documentation is updated continuously by Zone Brewery Support group.
Ensure that activities related to prevention i.e. EHS are taking place : leads in prevention areas. Ensure that risk and hazard analyses for each new process, equipment or material are taking place.
Owner of the VPO Safety and Environmental Pillar for the brewery of Hoegaarden : ensure drawing up, implementation and continuous improvement of the management systems.
Stakeholder management of management team and other key persons in the company.
Owner of the health and safety budget
Owner of the environmental budget
Owner of the EHS investments
Give advice about the investment projects of the brewery regarding EHS rules and regulations.
What you'll bring :
Bachelor or Master degree or equal by experience
Knowledge of the regional and national environment and labour safety regulations
Excelling in stakeholder management
Analytical and critical approach

Good convincing skills with the internal and external stakeholders
Excellent Dutch and English level
