PRESENTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND TEAM
Part of AXA Service Digital Transformation, Move AXA to the Cloud program is an ambitious global journey.
The objectives are to move 75% of the existing application landscape to a secure hybrid cloud infrastructure (more than 15 000 servers to be migrated from 2016 to 2020), as well as to standardize globally and de-duplicate existing infrastructure.
To support this program and set-up a sustainable organization, the OS & Pattern Product department oversees the standardization (new) OS version and the management ecosystem and develops server patterns for both the IaaS Platform based on IBM solutions and CoreIT, including TOM & change activities.
The department missions are to :
Build the Platforms, manage its evolution and maintenance (Puppet, WSUS, Artifactory, SCOM, GRAD, )
Define priorities and implementation roadmap
Engineers the services for OS management (global standards)
In the product department, the OS & Pattern team missions are to :
Design, Build the AXA-specific IaaS pattern / Server assets based on mainly based on IBM products and its eco-system
Design, Build the AXA-specific OS assets to mange VM during it’s lifecycle, this includes patching, monitoring,
Manage the OS & Pattern Product (Product Roadmap & Life-Cycle, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Costing and Pricing, )
POSITION & MISSIONS
Reporting to the Global Product Manager. Delivery of features tracked by the Component owner to ensure a coordinated delivery of new features;
The System Engineer OS & Platforms;
Is responsible of feature development from the demand specification until its validation
Work with design engineer on LLD (Low Level Designs) and review LLD.
Will work in depended on the technical implementation of these LLD
Validate the solution with peers and define a release plan
Document the features so user understand the value and are able to use it.
Define and develop new pattern (server install methods)
Define and develop install packages (Rpm, Choco, )
Ensure operability in Production (in close collaboration with chapter)
Define training plan
Delivers the handover to Operations team
Specific knowledge required (one or more)
Has a solid understanding of Cloud and Automating technologies
Is familiar with DevOps and Agile methodologies
In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following components : Windows 2016 / 2019, RHEL7 / 8, Middleware like Apache, Tomcat, Jboss,..
In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following Platforms / Tools : Puppet (or alternative solutions), WSUS, SCOM, Artifactory, Chocolaty, RPM
The candidate have a high expertise in Phython and / or Powershell
Has knowledge of Puppet Manifests
Softskill and other requirements
Is able to work in a global international context and willing to travel
Has very good knowledge of English (spoken and written). French is a plus point.
Is able to document his work in an understandable way for standard users (non experts).
PROFILE & COMPETENCIES
10 + years’ experience in IT engineering or operations, among them at least 5 + in functional or hierarchical management in an international, large-scale and highly visible context with technology challenges
Proven experience in Service Delivery organizations and operational delivery (SLA, ITIL processes, IT large-scale project delivery )
Management skills (Large & international projects or program management, or hierarchical management in a complex environment)
Strong general knowledge in IT and Datacenter architectures, from network, infrastructure layer to middleware, web architecture, identity management and authentication ...
Digital Experience, technologies and associated methods : market offers IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, architecture pattern supporting DevOps and Agile organizations (delivery and continuous testing, A / B Testing, ...)
Scrum Agile and DevOps methodology
Leadership & Soft skills
Strong organizational and technology skills with an ability to manage competing demands
Discipline and Method
Ability to change (or be changed) to fit new circumstances and be able to handle unexpected demands
