As Key Account Leader for one of our Top 3 Retailers , you create growth opportunities for the category and for Alpro by building and managing business with your customer.

You assume full P&L responsibility for your accounts and you co-create and implement tailor-made customer development plans.

In order to realize your objectives, you develop strong relationships across different functions within the assigned customers.

In this position, you are part of the BeLux team, based in Ghent, and you report directly to the Commercial Director.

About the job

Your responsibilities include :

  • Customer Development, Implementation & Monitoring : You develop, implement and monitor customer development plan(s) with your customers, in order to achieve the targeted sales and profitability.
  • Networking / Customer Management : You build strong relationships across different functions within the assigned customers, in order to achieve the company objectives of growing profitability & volume.
  • Marketing and Category Alignment : You take the lead in defining and implementing tactics on promos, assortment...; you negotiate with buyers on more targeted investments for activating the right shoppers;
  • you track and review the agreed customer kpi's and negotiation targets; and you gather and analyze customer-related data, in close collaboration with marketing and category management, in order to ensure an optimal customer approach in line with the instigated country-

    specific marketing strategy and category vision at account level and, by doing so, realize the budgeted objectives.

  • Target definition & planning / Resource allocation (incl budget) : You manage the assigned budgets in relation to the assigned customers in line with specific sales objectives while taking into account the marketing and category management guidelines, in order to maximize return on investment.
  • Internal SPOC / advice / collaboration : You take the end responsibility on the order to cash process (incl payments follow up and legal compliance) and you escalate in case of problems;
  • you cooperate with key stakeholders in other departments; you provide continuous feedback to the marketing teams on competition, new product developments.

  • as well as to the customer service management teams for cost improvement in Operations, forecasting accuracy and appropriate complaints handling.
  • in order to strengthen multi-functional teamwork and optimize common achievements.
  • Business Analysis / Data Mgt and Reporting : You own and lead the CDP operating database for measuring and evaluating trade spend, distribution, fair share, profit runs, folder share, prices, total account penetration.
  • within the customer; and you ensure access for internal stakeholders to all relevant customer information, in order to manage account responsibility and ensure maximum efficiency and shopper engagement.
  • About you

    To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have :

  • a Master Degree, preferably in Economics or Commercial Engineering
  • at least 3 to 5 or more years of Sales experience, preferably in FMCG
  • strong analytical skills and are experienced in working with Retailer data, IRI / Nielsen and GfK data
  • profound understanding of the Belgium Retail landscape and you excel in negotiation skills
  • fluency in Dutch, French and English (written and spoken)
