Our success has rooted in developing industry-specific solutions and shared data exchange platforms creating a unique Industry collaboration ecosystem.

Transforming this portfolio to embrace the latest technologies, in particular, SDN and APIs, the related business models, and reap the associated opportunities is core to our continued success.

We have been developing strategies to do so. We now want to bring a new leadership impulse to firm-up these strategies, confirm the associated execution plans, and drive strategic transformation.

The VP Communication and Data Exchange Portfolio is a key member of SITA AT AIRPORTS & BORDERS Leadership Team. The Leadership Team has the responsibility, together, to secure SITA’s market relevance, develop our Portfolio, and manage its performance.

The Communication and Data Exchange Portfolio is the largest Portfolio in the organization, and the role is based in Geneva, our headquarter.

Functionally, the VP Communication and Data Exchange Portfolio is accountable for :

  • Securing our "right to win" (including sustainable USPs, innovation & valuable IPR) in targeted markets leveraging a strong understanding of market demands and competition dynamics
  • Drive a transformation of our core historical businesses leveraging the latest technologies, in particular, SDN and APIs
  • Manage the business and economic model transformation, including ensuring that the transformation creates financial value for the company
  • Driving our product portfolio margin and cash return on our investments, including adapting / pivoting strategies as required to secure delivering on our targets / commitments
  • Bringing to market, and thereafter managing the growth and lifecycle, of competitive propositions / products (including with right quality and driving customer satisfaction)
  • Develop the Portfolio roadmap vision and execution plan, including new products and value propositions
  • Manage the Portfolio throughout its lifecycle for each Product / Service from conception to retirement
  • Manage and optimize for each Product / Service the P&L, working with and through other functions in the organization (e.
  • g. our Geographies for sales / revenue, our Delivery and Operations for cost)

  • Establish, implement and continuously manage, with our Geographies and partners, effective channels to market strategies for each Product / Service
  • Step-up People Management within the function, by maintaining a trusted environment for the teams while promoting high-performance and addressing under-performance
  • Developing and transforming teams, including to support the portfolio technology transformation and ensuring their skills / expertise are recognized inside and outside the company
  • Qualifications

  • A business of >
  • $400M with central P&L ownership

  • A portfolio of 7 product groups & services
  • A messaging solution, switching c. 28M messages per day
  • An ambition to grow our API business to $100M revenue in 5 years
  • An investment budget of c. $15M CAPEX p.a.
  • 80 employees, mainly located in Geneva, London and Atlanta
  • 60 development resources managed by our Product Engineering and Integration function
  • A uniquely global communication network (connections at over 750 airports in 220 countries and territories) delivered in partnership with Orange Business Services and 4 regional providers PCCW, CMC, LIME, Etisalat.
  • The leading Industry operational Messaging / EDI Platform
  • Overall, SITA AT AIRPORTS & BORDERS is a $1.2B+ and 1000+ people business. Principal offices are in Geneva, Atlanta, London, Letterkenny, Montreal.

    What you will bring :

  • Extensive experience leading teams in a global B2B technology business.
  • An innovative mindset and in-depth understanding of the latest technology and trends within the communications and data exchange domain (airline / airport industry application is a plus).
  • Track record in defining market requirements and functional specifications.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering lasting results in Product Management (innovation, strategy, growth, P&L, ROI).
  • A true leader of people, that has experience of navigating teams through a significant transformation period.
  • Here at SITA we truly are a global organization, and English is our business language. As such you need to be fluent and required to travel globally (up to 25%), including at short notice
