The Public Policy function is a small but influential team operating globally. EY’s EU Public Policy office ( Hub’) in Brussels, focuses on EY’s engagement with its key stakeholders in the EU institutions with respect to key policy and regulatory matters of importance to our profession, working closely with other EY specialist teams.

The Head of EU Stakeholder Outreach, EMEIA Public Policy is responsible for the development and management of EY’s stakeholder engagement plan covering EU institutions, and other, related / relevant Brussels-based EY regulatory and public policy stakeholders (regulators, trade bodies, etc.).
Your key responsibilities
Proactively and effectively develop, and manage the effective delivery of EY’s Public Policy (PP) stakeholder engagement plan for EU (and other related / relevant Brussels-based) stakeholders, working closely with the Head of the PP Brussels office and other colleagues in the EMEIA PP team;
Sourcing, planning and delivering stakeholder engagement meetings and activities, including events and related materials for key target groups;
Acting as PP account manager’ for selected EU / Brussels stakeholders, preparing and facilitating EY leaders’ EU PP stakeholder engagement in key areas, and representing EY at relevant stakeholder meetings;
Working closely with PP colleagues in Brussels and other geographies (and with EY colleagues from non-PP teams) to develop EY positions and messages on PP policy topics, and analysis;
Supporting and working closely with other members of the EMEIA Public Policy team on key initiatives (including as part of cross-functional steering groups on key PP topics);
Working closely with the Head of the PP Brussels office (and EMEIA PP leaders where appropriate) to ensure the effective management of key agencies and external advisors involved in our EU regulatory and public policy stakeholder engagement;
Working closely with the Head of the PP Brussels office, to ensure the effective day to day management of the PP Brussels office team, incl.
overseeing and contributing to the delivery of high-quality :
Monitoring of EU Regulatory Issues, communicating emerging regulatory developments EY internally and with analysis
EU-related PP engagement and communication pieces and projects, supporting and working closely with BMC colleagues and EMEIA PP.
Ad hoc research work (Surveys, studies, etc.)
Skills and attributes for success
Experienced in EU / Brussels public policy stakeholder engagement (mapping, engagement planning, preparation and facilitation, execution, monitoring, on-going relationship development) with mid- to senior-level EU and professional body stakeholders
Experienced in planning and delivering high quality EU stakeholder meetings with mid-senior level stakeholders, as well as public events (virtual and in person), working both with, and without external agency support
Excellent project (and virtual team project) manager and leader : outcome-orientated, experienced in managing multi-strand projects as well as overseeing and coordinating other’s contributions.
Organised, rigorous, with strong attention to detail.
To qualify for the role you must have
Experience of working in an Audit environment, preferably with experience of working in a Professional Services organisation
Excellent team player, people and team management experience. Experience in working effectively in diverse, multi-cultural (and virtual) teams.
Experienced at setting up structured teams processes and tools (e.g. work plans and progress trackers)
Strong writer (in English), with experience of contributing to high quality reports and analysis
Medium to high tech savviness
Able to work at a fast pace across multiple projects
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including in virtual environment.
Other Requirements :
Knowledge of 2+ EU languages, would be an asset, in additional to excellent English (required)
Bachelor’s degree and / or accountancy training as a minimum.
