Surveyor Equipment & Components

Job overview

As surveyor, you will assess the design, production, installation aspect of engineering assets, using your experience and knowledge, the procedures and technical documents, for routine inspection or in project situations.

You are involved in direct inspection of mechanical or electrical parts and components for compliancy as per International Codes and Standards, European Directives at manufacturer workshop.

The maintenance of regular contact with all clients on a regular basis will allow you to keep informed, receive feedback for continuous improvement, to promote our products and services.

With your commercial eagerness, you will find additional business opportunities to be shared within the team and with sales.

Applicable Codes and Standards are :

  • EN / ISO / IEC Standards
  • European Directives
  • National and international pressure vessel codes
  • Specification and procedures
  • Lloyd’s Register specifications
  • Area to be covered is the Belgium territory. Some inspection can be performed abroad or in the border areas if needed.

    Job requirements

    For this position we are looking for a professional profile with :

  • Degree as mechanical engineer
  • At least 5 years of experience with inspection activities in manufacturing or engineering
  • Resident at area stated above, working within the local team or from home base to serve client on site
  • Ability and willingness to travel mainly by car within the area above mentioned and on case by case abroad
  • Dutch and French languages are mainly used. The proficiency in English language is needed for the work
  • Experience with PED, ASME
  • Knowledge of mechanical sector, electric sector, metallurgy and automation
  • Knowledge on materials, pressure vessels or steel constructions
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes eg. welding, machining, milling
  • Having welding engineer qualification is an advantage
  • NDE qualification in RT, MT, PT, UT and VT are of advantage
  • Knowledge in management system or quality assurance is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to further develop knowledge in technical inspections
  • Ability and willingness to discuss technical and commercial issues internally and externally from workshop level up to quality and direction department
