Job Summary :
We are looking for a Senior Category Manager EMEA direct procurement who will be responsible for the following materials : Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Metals, Fabricated Tube, Valves, Airflow & Electrical.
The senior category manager will be responsible to provide daily management and support to our Thermo-King business to ensure proper development and execution of comprehensive commodity strategies that exceed both short term and long-term goals.
Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodities. Responsible for management of strategic suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process and accountable for monitoring supplier risk across all responsible commodities.
Engage with NPD Procurement teams to support new product development (NPD).
Regional Leader for assigned commodities. Liaise with global category team members to develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies that exceed both short term and long term targets
Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within categories - increase spend under long-term master agreements
Partner with Regional, Sector, and Global Procurement teams to ensure delivery of productivity - lead team countermeasures aligned to commodities and regions / sector
Responsible for management of strategic global suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process to improve supplier performance metrics including quality, delivery, productivity, and innovation
Provide daily management and support to global category team members while continually developing and expanding individual and team capabilities
Align regional and sector functional stakeholders to incorporate product and manufacturing strategies into global category strategy while gaining leadership support
Partner with strategic suppliers and SQE / SDE to complete detailed capacity analysis - align plant SIOP and forecasting with suppliers to efficiently ensure continuity of supply
Engage with NPD Procurement teams to support new product development (NPD) and new technology introduction (NTI), through preferred supplier and SRM programs
Accountable for monitoring supplier risk across all responsible categories while developing and maintaining detailed mitigation plans for critical components and at-risk suppliers
Accountable for team reporting and managing of commodity inflation, both mitigation and recovery
Aggregate category playbooks across global team members and present comprehensive team update during Quarterly Commodity Reviews (QCR)

Supply Chain Acumen Oversees development and execution of Global integrated supply chain (GISC) strategies / playbooks for assigned components or services, drives utilization of common GISC tools to achieve optimal Trane Technologies results that are Quality, Delivery, Price and Service balanced and corporate / governmental compliant.
Project Management Reviews and approves teams’ project plans, oversees project execution, balances projects between short and long-term focus, secures alignment with cross-functional partners.
Global Business Thinking / Strategizing -Demonstrates deep global knowledge of suppliers, industry trends, emerging markets and technology, builds this knowledge into GISC strategies / playbooks develops global talent.
Problem Solving Identifies / anticipates potential problems, supports root-cause analysis, evaluates robustness of corrective action plan and oversees plan implementation.
Relationship Management Creates collaborative environment with cross-functional partners, assures regular / appropriate two-way communication flow, builds / maintains relationship with industry peers and suppliers, and reinforces GISC lead on Trane Technologies voice to the supply base.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field (Advanced degree or masters preferred )
5 to 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Procurement
5+ years’ experience in Category Management
Fluency in English is required ( additional languages as French / Czech is an asset)
Solid Analytic experience
Learns quickly and integrates new knowledge seamlessly into strategy
Experience with large complex cross functional projects
Experience working in global environments and managing global categories and suppliers
Direct experience in the development and management of a global supply base is preferred
Ability to travel up to 15%
