Account Manager - Performance Products

Huntsman have an opportunity for an Account Manager with a background working in the chemical sector to join our established sales team focused on Maleic Anhydride and Performance Amines.

The position is a home-based opportunity ideally based within commuting distance to any Huntsman site in Belgium or Netherlands.

Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager Maleic Anhydride, Fuel & Lubes and Industrial Markets, you will be responsible for managing & developing your customer portfolio mainly in DACH and the BENELUX regions, but also a number of key accounts across Europe.

You will be responsible for achieving profitable short- and long-term business objectives in line with our divisional strategy, budget and business plans.

As Account Manager, you will :

Maintain company standards regarding safety and compliance whilst promoting Huntsman’s corporate principals and company values in all areas of your work.

Manage & develop all company accounts in line with our defined Sales Excellence program to manage profitable growth using value selling principles and directions set by the Sales Manager.

Identify Business / market opportunities to ensure our constant growth within a fast-moving market.

Monitor production and selling costs, liaise with customer service, logistics and credit department to optimize profit and cash.

Build strong working relationships with customers to amongst others drive new business development and ensure complaints are dealt with effectively.

Ensure that reliable management information and forecasts are produced and reported in consolidated sales forecasts.

Work with Marketing and Technical Departments to develop and maintain a high level of market intelligence in the component sector.

Identify and develop profitable outlets for our various product streams.

Establish a high standard of market intelligence for HPP market in your region, with particular focus on reviewing market share, product penetration in target markets, competitor’s product portfolio and competitor’s positioning in the market.

Negotiate sales contracts, terms and conditions according to prices approved by Huntsman and in line with the current regulations and procedures, if required.

Requirements :

Degree qualification in chemical, technical or business discipline with ideally 2-5 years’ experience within an account management or sales position within the chemical sector

Highly motivated and adaptable with the ability to contribute to an organisation focused on delivering valuable results and continuous improvement

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues as part of a regional sales team.

High levels of team effectiveness with the ability to contribute to cross functional groups involving, Marketing, Technical Service, Supply Chain and Customer Service

Experience working for a multinational company is a plus

Willingness to travel within the region (+-50%).

Fluency in English & German, other languages would be beneficial
