Department of Public Health, Non-Communicable Diseases Group The burden of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) is increasing globally, with the figures for low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) leveling up rapidly to those of high-income areas.
Whilst we often see the deleterious synergies between infectious diseases and NCDs in low resources areas, COVID-19 has exposed a globally heightened vulnerability to infectious diseases driven by the heavy burden of NCDs.
The NCDs Group at ITM is investigating the increased susceptibility and worse COVID-19 prognosis of chronic patients. In this line, the NCDs Group is coordinating the H2020 Coordinated Support Action Unravelling data for rapid evidence-based response to COVID-19 , to be initiated in November 2020.
unCoVer is a network of 29 research institutions in 18 countries collecting data derived from the provision of care to COVID-19 patients by health systems across Europe and internationally.
Assignment We are looking for a Project Manager to work closely with the team at ITM and unCoVer partners in the overall management of the project, performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to : Management of the unCoVer project office, acting as a contact person with the EC, ensuring that the project is implemented according to schedule, reviewing deliverables and EU reports and ethical protocols.
Deliver scheduled reports to the EC and other project stakeholders. Facilitate communication between partners, and monitoring teams’ tasks, deliverables, and milestones.
Contribute to the dissemination and networking activities of unCoVer We seek a candidate who can bring strong organizational skills and has attention to detail.
A proactive attitude, assertiveness and sound leadership skills are also required. Offer Requirements Skills / Qualifications Required Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, health sciences, information systems or related areas .
Previous experience in managing large, multi-partner, research consortia. Proficient computer skills and expert knowledge of Office tools, and project management tools / apps.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential with fluency in English. Knowledge of business and management principles.
Self-motivated; must have initiative. Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate project tasks. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Assets Previous experience in managing EC H2020-funded projects. A working knowledge of basic financial accounting is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Dutch, French, and / or Spanish.
