Your Profile

  • Master studies in Ergonomics or Human Factors
  • Passion for improving workplace processes, considering the physical and psychological aspects of Process Design using data to drive change
  • Detailed knowledge or experience of a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding the links between the various aspects of the Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Process cycle encompassing the manner in which the build story for a vehicle is determined at Design stage, through to the implications on Process and Equipment Design and other associated aspects including Logistics Operations parts supply and other Support Functions
  • Ability to work within a team, and able to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Practical approach to problem solving coupled with a passion for kaizen
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Packages including Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI underpinning an ability to analyse data and prepare presentations to a high standard
  • Ability to undertake frequent travel (10 to 20%)

    Team / Division description :

    TME Safety & Health Division is responsible for the deployment of the Toyota Safety Management System across all operations in Europe and the further strengthening of the Corporate Safety Culture through all Business Units towards our zero-accident objective.

    Within this construct and with full alignment to the Company Road Map, the Operations and Audit Team is focused on a range of collaborative activities with its Regional stakeholders which seek to deliver on our ambitions towards the concept of Any Member Any Process’ and the attainment of Zero Accidents.

    The team is actively engaged in supporting the Manufacturing Business Units through New Model initiatives and more generally striving to develop and strengthen Business Unit Self-Reliance through Cross-Functional support.

    Our requirement :

    TME Safety & Health Operations and Audit team is looking for a problem solver to assist us in our journey towards Any Member Any Process’ within our Regional Manufacturing Operations.

    It is not a pre-requisite for the successful candidate to have an in-depth knowledge of Ergonomics technical training will be provided.

    However, the ability to fit into a small and highly motivated team is essential, as is the ability to interact with people at all levels of the business across the Region.

    The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate an ability to manage projects, a passion for problem solving, identifying potential solutions and crucially be able to use their influencing skills in securing stakeholder engagement.

    The role offers the rare opportunity for someone to take the lead and ownership in shaping and driving the future of ergonomics and working conditions within our operations so a passion for people, technology and our products is a distinct advantage.

    Your responsibilities :

  • Provision and development of practical Ergonomic advice and guidance to the Region’s operations primarily Manufacturing and Logistics Operations
  • Collaboration with Regional stakeholders Manufacturing Plants Safety & Health teams, Production Engineering, R&D etc. in the development and implementation of practical and user-oriented S&H Policies, Procedures and Standards
  • Management and development of Ergonomic Evaluation Systems e.g. use of web-based solutions to make smarter and more user-friendly
  • Lead / coordinate targeted Regional Ergonomic projects including Regional stakeholders outlined above in addition to liaising with external service providers examples include :
  • o Identification, trialling and assessment of leading-edge Ergonomic Technology e.g. Motion Sense Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Exo-Skeletons

    o Development of Process Assessment Tools to support detailed understanding of both physical and psychological impacts of Process Design

    o Holistic approach to Process Design towards Any Member Any Process’ concept inclusion of relevant revised Ergonomic factors as additional key determinant

  • Development of Supervisors’ and Members’ Safety Mind-Set through training delivery Intro to Ergonomics and coaching
  • Support preparation of relevant report and discussion topics primarily towards the periodic Pan-E Ergonomic Working Group
  • Undertake detailed analysis and reporting of Regional Ergonomics performance to identify common causation factors and associated suggested activities to top management
