EUA has an opening for a Project & Policy Officer in Higher Education Policy (6-month maternity replacement)

EUA is looking forward to welcoming a highly motivated professional in its Higher Education Policy Unit. The Unit works on a range of issues related to the Bologna Process, learning and teaching (including its digital aspects), lifelong learning, inclusion and internationalisation.

In particular, the successful candidate will contribute to survey data collection and evaluation for EUA’s Trends 2024 report and a survey on the Erasmus+ Mid-term review.

The position may require some travel.

The role and tasks of the Project & Policy Officer

  • Contribution to two major surveys, including development and evaluation of survey questionnaires, and the drafting of a survey report.
  • Organisation of thematic focus groups and other consultations in follow-up to the surveys.
  • General contribution to ongoing policy work (including monitoring, information gathering, drafting and presentation of position papers / briefings / reports / policy messages) as well as to the content, design and implementation of events.
  • A wide range of other tasks, as they emerge, such as liaising with EUA members and external partners, preparing information and background materials, representing EUA at external meetings and events.
  • Background, qualifications and skills

  • Relevant higher education degree (Master’s).
  • Knowledge of Erasmus+, and if possible experience with implementing actions under the Erasmus+ programme.
  • Experience in the development and evaluation of surveys
  • Strong IT skills, in particular knowledge and experience in MS Excel, SPSS or comparable programmes.
  • Experience in the development of studies and reports.
  • Other relevant professional experience in the field of higher education in an institutional framework, or with HE policy at European level.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the European Higher Education Area is an asset.
  • Sound analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language, including writing skills and proven experience in drafting different types of documents (reports, policy briefs, news stories).
  • Experience working in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, against tight deadlines and in a complex international environment.
