Position Purpose & Summary This role resides in the technical team which overlooks quality and continuous improvements from barley supply to malt final uses.
There will be two main areas of focus related to interfacing with the Operations network and with the customers. This role will also interact closely with the Supply Chain Team, understanding customer needs of raw materials to target the best quality barley from origins and suppliers.
The role will need to work closely with the production teams to ensure barley contact management is aligned with quality requirements while also being responsible for management and maintenance of technical Bill of Materials.
Ultimately, this role will be responsible to work closely with the Regional Technical Manager, Merchandising Team, Supply Chain and production plants to provide effective quality support for selected customers of the malt business.
Principal Accountabilities45% Plant interfacing & support :
Support operations to produce and deliver malt in specifications on time.
Interfacing with the day-to-day activities between operations and supply chain
Manage continuous improvement projects to ensure customer satisfaction
35% Customer interfacing :
Provide technical support to selected customers
Manage derogation requests and technical customer requests in coordination with the FSQR Specialist, handles complaints process relating to product quality through effective root cause analysis with required stakeholders.
Contribute to delivering timely technical inputs required by the key stakeholders such as customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders in the region or globally
10% Customer Solutions Project Management :
Champion activities related to the key projects with global customers and internal stakeholders
Fully manage selected projects from the customers projects portfolio
10% End-to-End Quality :
Support management of Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Ensure processes and procedures support BOM accuracy through continuous improvement
Required Qualifications :
Experience in managing grain quality, processing and / or handling
High customer and service orientation
Proficiency in material / inventory management
Well developed communication and analytical skills
Ability to work independently, be self motivated and proactive
Contribute in a team environment through developing positive working relationships that are based on trust and integrity
Serenity in challenging situations
Good knowledge of production processes and procedures
Good problem solving skills and focus on quality and detail
Preferred Qualifications :
Degree preferable Master of Biomedical Engineering, or a higher degree in science, agriculture, agronomy, food science or related discipline
Has acquired knowledge of the malting and brewing or barley industry
Minimum 3 years experience in a senior technical, food processing or production role
Experience in problem solving and change management
Sound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role

Ability to quickly respond to and resolve issues
Ability to connect with people in various levels of the organisation
High adaptability and capacity for change
Ability to integrate and operate in a multi-cultural and diverse environment, inclusive mindset
