We build the bio-manufacturing infrastructure that allows our clients in low- and middle-income countries to produce vaccines and biotherapeutics.

Through tech transfers and a suite of turnkey manufacturing facilities integrating the latest technology in biologics production, we want to change the manufacturing paradigm towards a more decentralised, lower cost distributed manufacturing model.

Currently Unizima is looking for a Business Development Manager for the region : Asia

JOB PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES

As business development manager, you will oversee and leading business development transactions within the Asian regions (esp.

South & Southeast Asia).

The Business development manager enables the creation of long-term value for the organization from customers, markets, and relationships, leveraging on a strong cultural agility and preserving company’s reputation.

Also, He / She will be responsible to provide customers with dedicated proposal according to their business case / project scope and aligned with Unizima services portfolio, leading to the materialization of a commercial offer (i.

e., specific work-packages).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and grow relationships and close business with both new and existing clients in LMIC (South and Southest Asia).
  • Identify and influence key decision makers at all levels within the client organization.

  • Regularly network and develop relationships with prospective partners, academic institutions, and licensors while evaluating opportunities at medical and business development conferences
  • Influence and model the financial business case opportunities from inception to close. Identify and qualify new sales opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and other market factors (ex. Government regulations) impacting the business.
  • Ensure proper submission of the offers, taking into account legal constraints linked to the proposed commercial services.
  • Conduct due diligence, formulate partnership strategies and present recommendation to the management team as well as mange transactional and execution steps to close
  • Interact closely with internal Public Affairs to align with governmental, national, and international institutional strategies to develop fit-to-purpose business development.
  • Align business development with Unizima marketing strategy and leverage on new business opportunities to continuously adapt the marketing strategy, leveraging on close collaboration with internal teams to sell Unizima’s services.
  • Makes sure to link (hand-over) properly business case in order to facilitate project implementation, considering preliminary scope, budget and timeline.
  • PROFILE (QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • MBA or related advanced degree, strong scientific orientation and proven experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech / life science industry.
  • 5+ years in business development roles in Pharma and / or Biotech and solid scientific background with an in-depth understanding of biopharmaceuticals.
  • Strong network in worldwide or regional life sciences sector and demonstrated track record in leading strategic transactions including negotiating complex agreements and driving business decisions.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills the ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences (colleagues, scientific and technical leaders, financial institutions, governments, pharmaceutical and business partners, collaborators, customers, and senior executives).
  • A resourceful, strategic and analytical thinker and creative problem solver who can help shape both individual deals and the future strategy of the business.
  • A strong scientific orientation in-depth understanding of the drug discovery and development process. Knowledge or experience in vaccines and bio-similar deal-making is a plus.
  • Experience in working with LMICs is a plus.
  • Be an excellent and inspirational leader in order to push forward the several leads and projects.
  • Stress resistant, agile and ability to deal with uncertainties specific to start-up companies / SMEs.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and complete tasks without or with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent in English.
  • An Asian language is a plus.
