By its AIRFIELD Communication, Navigation & Solutions Team ADB Safegate provides advanced solutions based on various type of sensors and communication methods which allow save operations during ground movements of aircrafts.
The team is responsible for realisation and management of such solutions including analysis and performance measurement tools as well as needed simulations.
The offered solutions for detection and identification of mobiles (Aircraft or vehicles) are based on wireless communications, datalinks and use of visual guidance.
Typical examples are Stopbar crossing alerts, Runway status lights, Foreign Object Detection, Taxiway routing protection and airport hot spot management / protection.
Within this context surveillance, mainly co-operative, and communication are major enablers and an area in which ADB Safegate is investing.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and passionate Senior Software Engineer for the ADBSG Airfield Surveillance Solutions.
Main responsibilities The Sr. SW engineer will be in charge of the development and management of the ADB Safegate SW. He has a solid experience in managing a team of SW developers, good work experience in radar and tracking, as well as ATC solutions.
The Sr. SW engineer is responsible for the software architecture, design, development, code reviews , testing and releasing of new software designated surveillance and applications for airfield solutions.
Design, and implement high-quality software solutions within a timely manner Additionally manage the assigned junior SW engineers or external developers.
Manage the new software development throughout all its phases : system requirements definition, system development, test, verification and validation.
Translate into SW requirements operational and functional requirements received from the Surveillance manager. Evaluate software solutions and system performance.
Support the prototype system testing and its validation. Eensure appropriate procedures and processes are followed. Responsible of code management and versioning.
Produce all related documentation in accordance with company quality standards.2 Contribute to and lead the decision-making process associated with the design of the new surveillance software applications.
Deliver status reports and proposals to upper management Collaborate with Airfield Surveillance Manager and MLAT Product Manager, and contribute to planning, roadmap building, integration plans, budget and timeline for the development project Work effectively with Product Managers to ensure delivery against agreed priorities Certify the SW against ICAO and Eurocae standards (Ed 109), special focus on cyber security and safe & reliable operations.
Skills & Requirements 7+ years of professional software development experience Min. Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or similar.
Great English language proficiency - any additional language is an asset. Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
Understanding of MLAT, A-SMGCS, Surveillance systems, tools and simulations. Experience in ATC tracking systems and Kalman filtering Experience in software code management and requirement management Strong computer science fundamentals in SW development, data structure, mathematics and algorithms Strong proficiency in System Design and SW programming Ability to envision and deliver software solutions that meet user needs and / or solve business problems Able to design and architect technically sophisticated solutions to meet challenging user requirements Know and understand software development processes and applied engineering.
Knowledge of best practices related to data encryption and cybersecurity Practical and good understanding of System Integration & interfacing.
Working knowledge of documentation procedures In-depth knowledge of the major programming languages (C, C++, Java, Perl , Python ) In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux (Clients & Servers) Experienced with virtualization (VMWare , Docker) is a plus.
Experienced with Subversion, Jira & confluence. MS office package + Viso & MS Projects Understanding of complex software architecture setups.
