Working Environment

Our Business Development and Sales team is looking for a Business Development and Sales Manager to strengthen their fast growing team in the field of Engineering of transport infrastructure, with a focus on the Flemish region of Belgium

Your function

You will be part of the product line Urban which oversees all projects related to :

  • City consultancy in the domains of urban planning, mobility, sustainability & policy and environment;
  • Engineering of transport infrastructure (road, rail, bridges, tunnels and multimodal hubs;
  • Buildings and complex structures
  • This function encompasses the following responsabilities :

  • Business Development (upstream of tender publication processes) (estimated at 25% of your time) :
  • Via your network with the Infrastructure Public Authorities and Key Private actors of the Urban Development within Flanders, you pro-
  • actively take contact with the relevant Parties to promote the know-how of Tractebel in Urban development. You investigate innovative and collaborative approaches with them to jointly develop integrated Urban infrastructures;
  • Together with the BD&S Director you define a winning tender strategy.
  • Sales (manage tenders) (estimated at 75% of your time) :
  • You manage integrated and multidisciplinary offers with a focus on transport infrastructures from A to Z. Based on your knowledge of the Client needs, you lead the tender team and ensure the timely delivery of tender deliverables (methodology, price, risk and ethics management, quality control);
  • You work closely with your colleagues within the BD&S team and operational team to improve the quality of the offers;
  • You pro-actively propose solutions to improve the tender process and tender tools.
  • You participate to the weekly commercial conference calls with the commercial team and the management of the Urban Product Line to follow up the new leads and offers and to discuss the process of offers in preparation;
  • You participate to the monthly commercial meetings with the BD&S team of the Urban Product Line;
  • You report directly to the BD&S Director of the Urban product line.
  • You have a Master Degree in civil engineering, (landscape) architecture or engineer-architect;
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in the field of infrastructure, consultancy or engineering related to mobility solutions (roads and associated infrastructures, underground utilities);
  • You are a commercial / technical person with proven sales skills and track record;
  • You have excellent writing and communication skills which allow you to able to work out at least 80% of the proposals alone;
  • You are an excellent Team leader, enabling you to motivate a tender team
  • You have a dynamic personality;
  • You have negotiating skills and you are a team player;
  • You are well organized and can work independently;
  • You are eager to learn, creative and flexible;
  • Preferably Dutch mother tongue with good knowledge of English. French will be considered as an asset.
